Transferring to Spanish plates

Hi,

I'm afraid it's that old tattie again!  I am in the process of buying a car in Spain, it's on Irish plates.  I was advised that the cost of transferring to Spanish plates was around 350e, I am now advised that it is more likely to be 800e.  Does anyone have a difinitve cost for transferring a car to Spanish plates.  Please only respond if you are sure of the facts.  My heid is nippin'.

The cost of the transfers depends on the value of the car and the Co2 emmissions.  The tax is between 0% and 14.75% of the value depending on the Co2, then there are other costs:-

ITV about €200, or €130 is you have a EU conformity cert

Road tax 45 to 90

Gestoria fees about €50

Trafico charges about €100

new plates about €15

So don't believe anyone that says it a fixed price, because it's not.  If you have a cheap low emmisions car then it could be as low as €400 but if you have an expensive high emmisions it could be €2000+

The value of the car is detemined by the Gestoria so may bare no relation to what you paid for it, they have a price guide for all makes and models.
