Hi all,
Just had SUMA Tax (Town Hall) debited from my account. The amount was €151 compared with €118 last year. That's an increase of 28%. Has anyone else had a similar increase?

Yep,75.55 per person. Quite a rise but not too surprising in the current climate and still quite cheap really. Much better vfm than in the UK if you ask me. Jon Faulkner.

Hi Jon,
I thought SUMA was property based. If it's per person then I should be paying €75.55. Can you tell me what service the charge is for which isn't covered by our community fees?

Yes it is property based but I have no idea how the actual costs are arrived at and it has no link with the maintenance fees we pay to milenuin. I am in a top floor penthouse and pay smaller maintenance fees than most Jardines but seem to pay more to Alhama Council for their services - police, fire, bus service etc and now CDA has been formerly adopted by the Council we should see an improvement in the services provided. Something to do with this. As far as i remember Suelo is land value and Const is construction value at time of build. They then apply a % to this to calculate your council tax. Signidicantly better than my ''pounds 1200'' in the UK

I seem to remember inconsistencies in payments last year between gardens and apartments and no-one knew why but it does appear that it should be per person.
Our payment, taken yesterday, was e56.85* 2 which is less than last year when we charged e65.63 *2.
