Dear all,
got back from Spain last night and there is much activity on site. On Saturday morning, the foundations were dug for a retaining wall near the pool area and work is definitely progressing on block 11.
Shaun Dennis has also been out there recently and has photos and some interesting information - perhaps if you could post Shaun?
On a brighter note, the weather was spectacular and hit 26 degrees on Sunday - the reason why we all bought in Spain I think.
Kind regards to all,
Liz & Simon

If anyone else is over then call in to 3b for a cuppa (or something stronger)

Hi Darren,
thanks for the update and amazing photos. We are back out for the weekend on April 21st, so unfortunately, will miss you again.
Things are definitely moving but Shaun has been told that block 11 will take about twelve months to finish and only then will the exterior bits, (pool etc), be completed, (another six months perhaps?). It is still very frustrating that we will still not have the ameneties we were all promised for another year or more. I am now looking seriously at pulling out, mainly as we bought for a family holiday home but it's dragged on so long the children are growing up and don't want to come with us now! I will let you know how it goes.
Kind regards,
Liz :-)

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the photos Darren. Karen will look after our apartment too, I hope she manages to get a good business going as she is fed up with travelling to Quesada every day.
See you in a couple of weeks.

Hi everyone
Interesting to read all your comments, I have not visited the message board since getting back from spain the other week however it is good to see that things are moving ahead now. I did speak to the builders office and was told that block 11 is the main focus along with the retaining wall to protect the land and transformer from the effects of possible subsidence in heavy storms. The work going on at the moment seems to verify this however I was also informed that this will take priority over the pool and landscaping and an expected completion date for block 11 is December 2007 or later depending on how things go.
I have requested that whilst the builders are now on site could they make a ramp or similar up to the incredibly high step leading to the entrance doors, in my opinion it is dangerous and someone could easily fall and injure themselves stepping up or down. Anyone got any comments on this?
Liz
I understand your frustration , I have the same thoughts but it just seems a shame that we have been subjected to this mess over the last few years and now the end is in sight we have lost the will to go on!
keep the messages coming

Hi All
Great to see all the work is taking place at long last -we completed January 6th 2006 ground floor B - we were last out on the 17th - 21st March, and our parents are staying there at present.
However, we have a continuing problem, each time we visit our apartment we find our terrace with cigarette ash and stubs on it. Our parents came out onto the terrace the other day and found the same. As you can imagine this is unaccepable and very upsetting Can we ask anyone who smokes in the block, friends, family or guests to refrain from doing this.
Thanks
Linda and Pete

Hi Linda & Pete
This is Darren & Jane from Floor 2B, we were out at the apartment from 22nd - 24th March last week and we just missed you.
We did say hello and acknowledge your parents, we thought your furniture looks nice with the awning, where did you get your plants from, they look good?
Sorry to hear about your problem with the cigarette stubs, we are both non smokers and we do sympathise especially as all your furniture is outside. Could be white block? as they do tend to dislike us there if you didn't know. We have had alot of trouble outside with dog mess and we know it is from them.
Can we ask you who you have bought through?
Hope to meet you when out again

Hi Darren and Jane
We bought through Iberian International, other than showing us the apartment, after we purchased they did nothing at all. We purchased a lock up,, and even to this day they dont know whether we have the keys or not. We completed ourselves, with the help of our good Solicitor, went to the Builders Office and Notary and moved in.
We purchased most of our furniture and plants in England and had a company bring them out for us in October last year. We bought the apartment for the outside space, which is why we are upset that anyone would want to use it as an ashtray!!!! Anyway hope this wont happen again now.
Yes, we also got the impression that the white block were against us, when we were there last August a lot of people were there with dogs and just used the front of our block as a walking area?!!?!?!?
Well hopefully when all the works are completed and everyone is moved in a community can be formed and a lot of these teething problems can be ironed out.
We are back again in June so hopefully we will see you.
Regards
Linda and Pete
