I agree with the last 2 posts but others on here have vested interests and hidden agendas! There are more political issues on this complex than people/owners realise!

One of the earlier posters hit the nail right on the head. We can get people being pulled up for protecting their children or shading themselves from searing heat of the sun, but the fact that likes of the 'cowshed' and other similar eyesores are still standing makes a mockery of this image of keeping uniformity and compliance with community rules. 'Easy targets' springs to mind.
Most of us northern europeans have bought in Spain to savour the outdoor life for ourselves & children/grandchildren and not confine ourselves to our apartments with blinds closed blocking out the majority of the sunlight like many Spanish families traditionally do. Different cultures.....different ways - simple as that. Live & let live is what I say as long as you are not offending anyone else and blatantly flouting the rules of the community. Erm....................cowshed & cowshed clones!
No doubt I'll get a winge from Bluevelvet now for being discriminatory towards the Spanish ![](/userfiles/content-moved-to-https/FCKeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/whatchutalkingabout_smile.gif)

Thanks for your comments of support everyone. As I mentioned in my first post, the more people who log their objection regarding not being allowed to have an umbrella by the pool, the more chance we have of this RIDICULOUS decision being over turned.

I wouldn't hold your breath.
I have written to ML re the pool gates being left open which I think is a huge safety issue. In the mornings these are often wide open, with no one around or in the pool, allowing any kids to wonder up and into the pool area. I asked why don't we have self closing gates like you see at lots of playgrounds/pools etc...the simply swing shut once you go through.
Maybe keep the umbrella ban but simply have an exception for babies and toddlers...like no inflatables except for swimming aids.

Bearing in mind most of the other pool rules are constantly ignored i.e no inflatables, food and drink, unsupervised children etc, i shall continue to take my small umbrella with me to the pool I slot mine neatly between the legs of my fold up chair and it has never been planted in the ground so i dont see what the problem is I could get petty and wear one of those hats that has an umbrella attached to then argue the small print as to what constitutes an umbrella Someone has lost the plot on this

Hi
I have heard that the presidents on La Isla have organised to get some permanent sun shades put in place around their pools. Assuming this will come out of their budget so it might be worth speaking to the relevant presidents + ML to make a similar proposal.
That way families with young children can still enjoy the outdoors without exposing them to the full glare of the intense sun.

this so called ban on umbrellas, inflatables etc is crazy - is Condado becoming more like a prison camp or the holiday resort that most of us thought we wer buying into ? Yes, there will be different perspectives and cultures but for goodness sake most of us are there to HOLIDAY, RELAX and ENJOY. Maybe it's time for a revolution or protest - a thousand Mary Poppins' aka the Olympics opening ceremony twirling around the pool at Al Kazar might get their attention !
