Can anyone advise why there seems to be a fair hike in electricity costs? It certainly seems more than just the VAT increase.

I read somewhere a while back that 4 increases in electricity were agreed for this year and that was before vthe vat increase?
Electric can now be obtained from other companies problem is understanding it all?
