Does Anyone else get this dross from millennium about how many light bulbs have been changed?

I expect them to do this as a basic function not use it as some sort of self appreciating slap on the back!

I want to hear about what's happening with the finances of the resort, also how the next year budget is planned and the detailed breakdown of same garden by garden, penthouse block by block!

Not bulb changing and grass cutting which should be the norm!

How much time must they be wasting on taking and publishing photos of 'gone' light bulbs and writing these reports! Time that we're paying for.

It is good to know what's happening on the resort but this fine a detail is just not needed and Mileniun's time could be better spent elsewhere.

I appreciate receiving this as I hear bugger all else. ML continue doing a fine job in my opinion which I'm happy to revise if someone gives me good reason to.

Over the past few months many "good reasons" have been posted on EOS including the fact that ML got a written warning from the presidents for their bad proformance.  Unfortunately most seem to ignore these facts, so ho hum what else can you do.  The AGM is in a couple of weeks time, I wonder how many will turn up for these?  I know that a large number of the current presidents are sick of what is happening here and so are standing down.

I admit there is very little new information in the weekly ML updates to the extent that it has become a bit of a joke

It's like Groundhog Day when there have been strong winds - the covers for the post boxes need repairing again! It's the same photo every time

Feel sorry for the guy whose job it is, he never gets a moments rest

Hi Phil

I notice on your reply that the AGM is due shortly. Is this when we have the opportunity to vote?.

If I remember correctly, when you were Level 1 you would post a thread reminding us of the date & who was up for election etc. I presume the current level 1 will not be alerting anyone to the details or surely we should have seen something by now. My concern is that if there is interest by other people to stand for their garden as president unless the contact everyone by PM( very time consuming) or add a thread on EOS most of us will not know about it until it is too late. I heard that the president of Jardin 5 got in by the stupidest no of votes because no one else put themselves forward & could not be bothered to vote for him because he is useless.

I don’t think we should expect you to do this for us now but it will be interesting to see if there is any useful information given out before the due date.

Jan

It may be in the next BS letter from ML eh Jan?

But I doubt it. Tried to get a proxy voting form off ML but failed, they want to keep your form to use themselves!
Surprise Surprise.

This election will make Zimbabwe and North Korea look positively democratic.

I went in and asked ML to clarify the dates of the AGM and was told 24th November for Naranjos side of the resort and 1st December for Jardines side of the resort. They also told me they would be contacting people 1 month prior to those dates, I don't know about you but I have heard nothing from them.

I also asked how to do a proxy vote and they told me they needed a copy of my passport and did I want to leave my proxy vote with them !!!!!! erm let me think for a nano second...... NO CHANCE Why on earth do you need to supply a copy of your passport??? If you own a property then you have a vote, simples. they already have more copies of my passport than I have!!

Aparthy rules with most people and I'm sorry to say this but they need to wake up and smell the coffee as we haven't got enough money to meet our obligations next year and that is simply not right and we shouldn't be in this position

I have said it before and will say it again, you the owners need to wrest control of the urbanisation from your administrator. That does not mean sack him necessarily but control him and ensure he works FOR you and not AGAINST you.

The indicators are pointed all the way to your administrator controlling you and that will spell disaster believe me. I talk not from the hip but from very bitter experience from which we have emerged in very very good shape but if we had been afflicted with the same apparent apathy being displayed by Condado owners it would have been totally different.

A recent post has said you have a shortfall of funds for this year, hopefully due to debtors but I bet you anything your administrator is preparing a budget with a greater spending proposals next year than this... it's the way these people operate, if you vote for the new budget you will automatically incur an increase in community fees to cover the budget increase.... please remember a budget is just that,  not a commitment to stick to it but they will increase the budget to increase the community fee revenue to cover for debtors and maintain the spend at current levels. That is the way they do it rather than go hard for the debtor, easy life is the motto.

You are now going through the phase that these administrators try very hard to create whereby they control the voting, knowing full well that the vast majority of votes can only be cast by proxy they do all they can to obstruct the proxy element...ie passport number requirements, they are absolutely not required in any way shape or form via the HPL and indeed the method of identification is a decision for the EMPLOYERS ( owners) NOT the EMPLOYEE ( the administrator).

One thing is certain and so very predictable, if you don't wake up, smell the coffee and realise where you are being led you will regret it for many years to come.

I am not an owner at Condado but have more experience than most, if not all, in the way apathy develops and the administrators take advantage in order to control urbanisations for their own benefit and not yours...I can't say much more than that on a public forum.

Barry

You have not been informed by ML because they dont want you to vote!! Simples..

They said they would send out all the information 1 month before elections!! FALSE.

The elections are due on the 24th Nov for Naranjos and Dec 1st for JArdines! UNLESS ML decided to change them when people had already booked flights that is..

ML are pulling the wool over your eyes regarding elections this year and before you can do anything about it another year will be gone and it will be financial pain for US ALL!!

Bombard ML with emails and calls and insist on your right to vote as you choose not as they want for themselves!!

The venue has not been set yet, or at least the presidents have not been informed if it has.

See the other thread for info on proxies.

To put things in prospective.

There are a possible 48 level 3 presidents in Condado, of these a number are not represented or were nominated and take no part leaving 43 elected presidents.  Of those 43, six live on Condado full time, all non-spanish, and of these 2 or 3 take an active role.

Of this six on site presidents 4 have said they are so fed up they will not be standing again this year, a number of the off site presidents has also said the same.  I am the only level 2 that lives here and after the events of the summer it is obvious that Mileniun and I can no longer work together so i won't be restanding.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a president and not living here, I was a president for 2 years before I moved out.  Many of the off site presidents put in a lot of time and effort and visit condado regularly, all that is required is that you have the commitment to put in the time and effort to get involved in community matters.

So if you are interesting in standing let people know, get proxies then either come to the AGM or send your representative ( if you do so remember that the proxies have to be given to the person attending the AGM in person )

If you don't like the ways thing have been going or would just like to have your say, now is your chance.

My Wife joined this forum to access info and help on the resort of which we have been owners since 2009.

Being owners and living in the UK visiting 3-4 times a year we are guilty (as maybe a lot of other UK visiting owners) of driving through the security gates and switching into holiday mode and thinking everything in the garden is rosy.

Me and my family were over for August when the whole ML/PT debacle broke and couldnt believe what we were reading via that email that everyone received from ML.(seems they can contact when they want to!). It truly was a wake up call as to what was going on behind the scenes on the resort.

Since 2009 we have not once received notification of elections or anything else for that matter from any administrator. This could be ignorance on our behalf, not knowing where to look.

Since 2009 we have seen the resort come on 1000%. What use to be The Sports Bar/Supermarket is now the Condado Club, a place for great food, entertainment, kids club, gymnasium,Beautician, bike hire etc.etc.This has come about from hard work/investment from Paul and Rachel all to improve our resort for US.

Move on up to Al Kasar and we find that gone are the days of the Clover where a pint, a short and 2 juices would set you back 15 euros. You can now actually afford to go out and enjoy the Clover with its entertainment and not worry about blowing the community fees in one night.Again if it wasnt for Neil and Lynn,s hard work and investment this would not be happening.

Still in Kasar we have The Bulgarian, Bocoa, La Cata, Ice Cream Parlour, Furniture Store, Gift Shop, Estate Agents and i believe a French Patisserie and Americam Theme Burger Bar to follow. All run by people who believe we have a great resort and even greater potential. There's also a Taxi/Minibus service set up by i believe a Father and Son. Excellent!!!

I dont play alot of golf but i have seen that the CDA golf run by Barry is a massive part of the community,(for obvious reasons) from weekly tournaments to events like the Viking Cup. I dont know Barry but from seeing info on here and on CDA website the amount of work he and his wife put in  is truly phenomenal.(and i bet its all F.O.C.) Yet another two of probably many more that believe in our resort.

I have and always will believe that there are two sides to every story, and am eternally grateful to ML for that August email because for the remainder of my time in August (for the first time) i started asking questions regarding the background to it.Some of the answers i got from friends we have made over there and are more clued up on the resort than we are, horrified us as to the workings of 'OUR ADMINISTRATORS'.

I would ask all UK owners to insist on your proxy form sooner rather than later. We need democratically elected representatives to look after our interests. Again these are people who are prepared to give up their time to look after our interests while we are stuck over here. We owe it to ourselves as owners and even more so to all the people above and many more who have invested time and their own money to improve OUR RESORT.
