Hi
I should complete in the next few weeks then I need to find a key holder and all the other suppliers/tradesmen.
So min order:
1. Any good keyholders/recommendations?
2. Lighting recomended suppliers and installers?
3. White goods locally at good prices and installed?
4. Airconditioning, assume it is cheap with pre-install, any recommendations and typical prices?
In Feb, I'll be across to look for furniture, is DFS the only real option or is there plenty of choice?
Once I've done all this I'll be back for my next questions :-)
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve, Welcome.
I would suggest ElectroRegalis in Roldan ( on right side as you drive in from Terrazas for white goods, they also have a reasonable selection of lighting which they will fit for you subject to a reasonable spend. They deliver and install white goods same day if the have stock. Prices may be little higher but if you factor in delivery cost they are pretty good.Plenty of other lighting shops in San Javier.
Furniture from DFS in San Javier , SFS in Pilar de Horadada or Ikea in Murcia.
There is a new Leroy Merlin( a little like B&Q/ Homebase) In La Zenia which is a short drive up the road towards Alicante if you want to DIY.
I dont have aircon but others in my block have paid between €1600 and €2000, sure other posters will give you names.
Key holders, again I dont but friends reccomend Condado Fairways and Kings keyholdings
Can I ask which block you are in? Please come back with any further questions
Henry

Climazone for the air conditioning. Great service and very knowledgable. DFS are good but furniture packs can be dear. We took time and shopped around. There are plenty of furniture stores around. Ikea is in Murcia city. I would recommend that you look up stores on the internet before you head over.

JohmMary, yep been trying to search the internet for stores but seem limited online to DFS, SFS, condadoservices, the furniturestore.
Just wondered if there were a few smaller ones to be pointed at
Thanks re Aircon

When you are out again in Feb, try driving from San Javier town centre towards San Pedro de Pinatar, you will see a number of furniture stores, including DFS. There are some very good spanish stores with what my wife thought to be very classy contemporary furniture - tends to be expensive and mainly with fairly long lead times.
If you have the time and inclination, Ikea in Murcia are very good, delivery is about €95 and will usually be next day. Some of the staff there speak a little english and are generally very helpfull. The stock is very similar to that sold in UK and you can browse Ikea spain on line before you go there. Same is true for Leroy Merlin. If you want all the work done for you then DFS or SFS( think they are now more focussd on previously owned) are the best bet. When you have chosen a Key holder, they will know of handymen etc to do other jobs around the apartment.
I am in 276 not too far away from you, look forwrd to meeting up in spring/summer. Dont hesitate to ask any other questions.

Furnitureplus in Lorca is a bit of a trek but we got our white goods there and they delivered. Also ended up getting bed frames, mattreses and internal kitchen table. Sofamania in San Javier seems to gave good deals. There is a furniture store on the left as you go into Torre Pacheco which has mirrors etc. we have picked up stuff by accident almost when we have been out and about.

We found there's a much wider choice of furniture stores than in the UK but they tend to be smaller independants. But few seem to have any online presence as you've found. It really depends on your budget, how much time you have available, if you are ok chatting & arranging in Spanish and your own taste.
I love Bastida but didn't buy from there as we had to had a limited budget at the time we completed. We had lights from Dicassa in San Javier but there's similar shops in Torre Pacheco and loads in Murcia. I like the soft furnishings from Zara Home there's stores in La Zenia, Murcia, Cartegena etc. Maybe have a look into buying in the UK & having it shipped as we did, it was a couple of years ago but prices still seem much higher in Spain. It took more than one trip to get everything sorted out and was a faff compared with getting DFS / SFS to do everything but I knew the brands & quality I was buying.

We use Fairways Condado for key holding and have found them really helpful. They organised our air-con with a company called Apollo, as they've found them most reliable & best for after-sales back-up.Fairways also installed our lighting......definitely worth talking to them
