"Spanish are taking over Condado"

I'm getting more and more anoyed about the way I'm sorry to say but most English owners argument over who should run condado.
Someone told me straight in to the face "THE SPANISH ARE TAKING OVER OUR RESORT, I DON'T WANT THAT!"
In another recently post on eye on Spain I read "WE NOW HAVE ONLY A FEW ENGLISH PRESIDENTS"
And there is even more in every arguments on different posts in this forum.
Did you all not know that time when you bought your place that YOU ARE IN SPAIN!!!
If you not happy with the way they run their countries or resorts DON'T BUY OR GO THERE!!!

i said some weeks ago that I would not be drawn into replying to any more threads but, sorry folks but on this occasion I have to agree with tasha john

if the kitchen is too hot, get out of it.

We bought in Spain for a Spanish way of life. good weather, lots of holidays, fantastic fresh food,a relaxed atmosphere. We have all of this & more.

We brits hate the idea of foreighners comming into the uk & trying to "tell us how to run our country" and yet we believe we have thr right to do just that when we choose to buy abroad.

I wont bother to read this thread again but just wanted to  voice my agreement with tasha

I think the issue is only that different nationalities want different things. There are lots of Spanish owners who have apartments as holiday homes or are residents and do not want  the CC to rise in any way. They do not need  the internet supplier and don't want a better tv service. They are happy with what we already have. Many got an apartment when PW was on the wane and have a  very reasonably priced letting arrangement with the possibility of purchase down the line- but they are likely to move on and not buy, so dont want the same as those people who bought on a 'golf resort' with expectation of it developing further. There are also different business practices and expectations which cause issues when different nationalities have to work together and  so it is not specifically down to prejudice these statements are made it is because people who bought on the resort want very different things from others who live (but do not own) or holiday on the resort.

Got to agree with the first two posters. The anti-Spanish xenophobia shown by some English owners and residents recently is shameful. The way they refer to 'the Spanish' with such contempt as if they're one single homogeneous group is cringeworthy.

Fortunately however, from my experience of English owners I know and have met I think they're a small (but very vocal) minority.

hmm, I live here and have never heard the anti Spanish talk that you refer to? yes some people do not believe that the current Spanish presidents are the best choice as none of them live here and so will not be in a position to oversee the work of the administrator to a level that some prefer but this is a comment about specific individuals, regardless of nationality, not a comment aimed at the entire Spanish people.
