I'm not sure who supplied you with the unit and It's just an idea but Steve at Apollo Air may be able to suggest somewhere.

I've also just read a post elsewhere and someone with a similar problem said that there are multi remotes that work on most a/c units and can be picked at the main DIY outlets.
