Thermor Water Heater - Manual? Help setting?

Hi, We have the standard 100L Thermor water heater. I have no instruction manual and want to know if the settings can be changed.

Should we leave it on permanently or leave on a  timer switch?

Can the temp be adjusted? The water is always far too hot for our needs?

I can't see a thermostat or anything for adjusting temperatures. Our electricity bill is ridiculous so we're looking at things that could be driving it.

I adjusted mine about a year ago to reduce the temperature.  I found it was on full no wonder the water ws unbarably hot.   The thermostat control is in the panel at the bottom with the red (on) light.  If i remember its held with a single screw, be careful of the wires when you pull it out.  I think I adjusted the dial about a quarter of the way back to set mine to a more suitable temperature.
