Property Franchise

We visited our apartment for the first time a couple of weeks ago (block 18) and suprisingly happy with the flat!   Although we felt the kitchen could of been of a much higher standard i.e. cupboards/handles...  pretty much all outstanding snagging was completed which, again, was rather suprising - going by feedback of some purchasers.

However, we can see that much is to be finished with regard to surrounding area but I would say give or take a year/year half things will look alot different - I think that is what most people fail to remember.

I had posted a thread just before my visit and got an email from a member in block 19 asking if i coud take photos, which I did but unfortunately I've deleted the email sent with this request - so if you read this mail (I can't remember name) please email me again and I will gladly send photos.  I will also upload photos taken of property.

We are unable to attend AGM meeting in April, and would be grateful for as much feedback as possible....

Just returned from CDS, a great deal of activity all week in the gardens behind blocks 14-16, weeds being levelled with a strimmer or hacked out with a hoe. Not the best solution but it looks much better without the 1m high weeds -  if you squint it almost looks like grass !  Interesting comment from the site office (informal) that the Interlaken offices should be gone some time this year and work started on that site for a two-storey commercial centre and leisure complex - a change from the originally proposed location for the leisure complex.  Building work on the ApartHotel is scheduled to finish by April 2008 allegedly. The noise and dust from that site is quite severe at at times.  I think 2008 could be the start of something better ...

We visited block 18 on a number of occasions.  In October there was evidence of soil subsidence around the perimeter of the building and in some places the foundations were exposed.  The stairwell had evidence of settlement damage with splits in the concrete structure.  There also appeared to be wet marks on the exterior in a number of places.  These matters would greatly concern me if I was buying there.  On a more recent visit in April, we noticed that the stairwells had been renewed and I would guess more soil laid.  We didn't have access to the apartments and so can't comment on the finish.  But the ground floor units look measly in size.  The gardens were growing weeds and there was a stack of rubbish out the front.  The swimming pools were shut.  Overall it was not a great experience.
