Golf course condition update......

As the greens have been hollow tined, Is there a reduced green fee for the texas scramble?

No point in even asking - no!

 Been away for 6 months and cannot believe how much the course has deteriorated in that time. The fairways arent cut properly and have weeds growing. Some of the bunkers dont look like they have seen a rake in months. They have grown the rough up on driving distances which they said they wouldnt which will lead to really slow play. There is long grass growing on the edge of many bunkers which stop the ball rolling into the bunkers but instead give impossible lies in thick grass. They have hollow tinned in may when the societies are over whcih seems crazy. No other courses do this so why do they! They have cancelled the annual single membership.You can join all 6 courses but its an hours drive to most of them wheres the others are fairly well linked. I understand there is a new golf course manager and i hope a delegation will be sent to try and get him to improve on these points. I always was very enthusiastic about our course and tried to promote it saying it was one of the best on the costa colida/costa blanca. Well i am sorry to say it has become one of the worst.

My neighbours dog died last week back here in the UK and on the other side they have built an extension and I think their daughter is up the duff again!

I have to agree. Over the past few years i have looked forward to playing. However
When we arrived last saturday and when i walked onto the patio, i can only describe my feelings as i looked over the 9th, 18th and 10th fairways as dissapointing.

I quite like the look of the rough, it gives the course some definition. What i dont like is the tufts if grass in the fairways. It makes a once a lovely manacured course look no better than a muni back in the UK. This isnt what i expext from a championship course.

I agree with the hollow tine at this time of year, a small micro tine would suffice at this time of year.

Lets see what the scramble brings tomorrow, but for the first time in 4 years i can say i am looking forward to playing my home club back in fleet hampshire on sunday.
