Hi All,

To add to the latest bad news regarding thefts on the resort and to confirm the deterioration of things over here, I have been told that the club house has been broken into yesterday and a certain amount of money was stolen. A couple of thousands apparently.

Really don't know what to expect next and whether we should sit and watch all this happening and not doing anything....

Any suggestion?

I cannot even imagine how the resort would be like when the building works start at Paramount.

Thank you.

You would have thought they empty the till on a night time. No CCTV in the place? I guess not

This is awful. What is being done security wise? What kind of people are coming into condado? Perhaps the people that rent their properties should be more careful who they let in, as l would be sad to think owners would stup so low as to commit crime on their doorstep, which will impact on their investment, Totally disgusted,
Disgusted

Please bear in mind that most of the rentals are to visitors from outside Spain. Please also bear in mind that Ryanair's excess baggage costs make it quite unlikely that anyone renting would want to take a washing machine or bicycle home with them!

Hi. Not talking about washing machines. I am referring to burglaries and taking money, so are you saying its people who live on site who are doing these thefts ?

I'm not 'saying' anything!!!!! Just pointing out that bicycles and washing machines are hardly likely to fit into suitcases. End of.

I am inclined to agree with AJW

Irrespective of it being a washing machine or money

I would imagine that it was not that easy to gain access to the club house & I also presume that takings differ from one night to another. I don’t suspect it was an opportunistic break in so someone has to have knowledge of where the best place is sited to gain access & what night takes the best takings. Also I guess most of us would have presumed that the till`s would be emptied every night on closure so I cannot think someone would have risked getting caught for nothing in the tills unless they had good knowledge of what happens. This knowledge has to be taken over a decent amount of time to be certain of a good result.

If someone is living in site they have ample time & opportunity to “case out the Joint”

(Sorry could not help myself but to be realistic & not flippant.)

To ensure that whatever is stolen a person or persons would need to be pretty certain that they were not going to get caught before attempting anything & as far as I know no one has yet. So I do believe it is not a holiday maker but someone living on site

It looks as if a security camera is certainly on the cards for us now.

Jan

Totally agree Jan, a renter would certainly think that the money would be emptied every evening so whoever did this would have known there was money in the till, do we knopw any more details like did they take all the Nike gear? They should have CCTV installed.

If they broke in but left all the "valuable" Nike golf clubs then I'd say for certain that they are a golfer!

The cards to enter condado are a big risk for me. If I lost my card then whoever finds it has access to condado as there is a photo on every card. ALL cards shoukd be blank wilh a ref number so the owner of each card can be identifed.

If new blank cards are issued to all owners then security can monitor who is trying to access condado on an
Old card.

All the cards are coded with the owners info so that they can tell who is entering/leaving the resort.  The card numbers are registered by ML on a PC that is linked to the system in the gate houses.  If you informed them they should be able to cancel your lost card.

Our card doesnt have a photo on it and i can hand it to whoever i chose if i want.  which we dont...

you zap the card on the reader and drive through.  How the hell does security know i am a owner.  just because the card has my details on it?  doesnt mean that the owner is using the card

a quick zap, wave at the guard and your in.

So,  you think that the community should scrap all the existing entry cards and the card readers at the gates and then issue photo ID cards to all owners.  Then when we come we get stopped and asked to show the ID card?

What about renters and visitors?  Should we make then report to security, together with prove they are renting, and have their photo taken?

Welcome to Stalag Condado.   We have the strictest security of ANY resort in the area, lots not get carried away.  I wonder now much of the stolen property is actually leaving the resort rather than finding it's way into another apartment?
