Club Roda

I know advertising is frowned upon but I have no connection but hats off to Club Roda a new commercial venture offering a varied range of regular and special weekly events for visitors and owners at Roda to enjoy.
Last night a coach load of us were picked up onsite and taken for an exquisite numerous course 6 or 7 I recall taster menu at the wonderful Hotel Encarnacion on the promenade followed by a great display of Flamenco dancing in the fantastic courtyard setting of the hotel.
All for 30 euros inc wine and transport, less for members who buy the card.

Along with the very successful Roda Golf Fiestas in August run by a volunteer committee and the ever popular monthly Roda Golf Socios on the golf course and clubhouse, these additional offerings can only provide more activities and more of the communal spirit that we all want Roda to be.

Hear Hear Hugh_man - we think this is a fantastic inititiave and have to say to the Club Roda team - really well done!

And again!  We also went on the same night out to Encarnacion with Club Roda in August - it was a great night out and very good value for money (having door to door taxi service helps too).  I hope this is thread isn't viewed as advertising and taken off, because it's good to be able to flag up anything positive that's happening on Roda.  The golfing community is well established but it's great that other events catering for non-golfers are becoming available as well.  Long may it continue.

We haven't done the bus trip and it sounds like it would be fun. I am checking out the website and it is great to have the personal recommendation of  Jane, Sandra and Hugh who have gone on the night out and enjoyed it.

Hotel Encarnacion has always been one of our favourite places to eat when in Roda with a perfect beachside location but old style Spanish dining room and courtyard. They do a fantastic lunch menu for 15/20 euro and the tapas are great too with excellent portions and first class service. Evening dining is very refined and worth getting dressed up for.

Hopefully the new club will arrange a trip to Murcia to Rincon de Pepe which is also fabulous as is the Casino restaurant there and Casa Rebate (which I see was on the list for lunch). It would also be great to have a trip to the Collados Beach Club where the restaurant food is second to none and the location so tranquil. These would probably be a bit pricier as they are further away and the menus a bit more expensive but the people who have had such good experiences so far will no doubt be keen to try pastures new as well.

With transport taken care of I imagine that these nights would be very well supported and best of luck to the organisers who deserve support for trying something innovative!

Just reading about ClubRoda nights out.  Would be very interested in finding out more as this is the first time I have heard of it.  We are over frequently and would be nice to plan ahead.  How do we find out the itinery
