Spanish bank charges.

Has anyone opened a Sabadell Expansion account ? Like most people on here I am noticing the increasing bank charges that are being applied. I would be interested to know if the 'no charges' promise for the expansion account actually applies.
Has anyone managed to open one of these accounts without having to take a Sabadell insurance product ? Could not see that it was conditional on the website but on the e-mail I received from Sabadell it is mentioned that an insurance product should be taken.
Other thing I would like to know is that if I change my account from a joint named to either me or my wife only, will we only get hit for 1 set of charges ? At the moment everything is in duplicate I.e. 25 euros debit card charges, 30 euros certificate of non residence, 6.82 euros for non residence authorisation charge.

Yes. I have a Sabadell Expansion account with no charges, no insurance needs, and a 3% return on Telephone, and power DDMs. Mind you I have a pension paid into the account. My daughter also has a similar account with a need to have a credit of at least 700 a month. Again no charges, no insurance etc.

Have looked into that one and also the one that is €24 per quarter. Both accounts are better value than the ordinairy one that charges 25e for debit card, 43e for credit card (recommend the credit card as you can use with hire car coys and not get the double exchange rate whammy re the deposit etc) and whatever they feel like as an account operation charge.

Problem is that i've just paid all their fees recently and i put a lump of money in back in May, so none due till next June when i will switch to a different account with Sabadell and go onto monthly tf (although i will then watch the exchange rates on lesser sums being moved) ..... reminder has been set.
