Thought it might interest those families moving here where children living at Condado go to school as there are a few schools used. Listed is each school where as far as I know there is at least 1 child from Condado going.
In Alhama de Murcia there is:
- Colegio Público Ntra. Sra. del Rosario (located in the East part of Alhama and where most of the primary children at Condado go here - the school bus collects/drops off at the Condado roundabout)
- Colegio Público Ricardo Codorniu (another primary school but located in the West part of Alhama)
- Instituto de Educación Secundaria Ies Miguel Hernández (not sure how many from Condado go to the Secondary school)
- Azaraque Coop - a private bilingual school built last year in Alhama (behind Colegio Senora del Rosario) currently just open for 3 to 5 year olds but with plans to open for older years.
Outside of Alhama:
- Kings College at La Torre - a private English school (and I note per the website there's an open afternoon for Early Years this Friday).

18 kids at Senora Rosario..if my memory serves me right, aged 3-12 and only 2 at the monent go to Miguel Hernandez but we have 4 of our juniors going to High School in September. Only 1 at Azaraque Coop and another girl at the junior school beside Miguel Hernandez. i believe there are 4 junior schools and 2 high schools, i may be wrong.
Kings' college has 3 of our resident kids, it's a long drive and the kids are away from home 0800-1745 approximately so its a long day. It is, of course, fee paying and teaches Spanish as a foreign language which isnt great for learning Spanish, when you are living here. It's a wonderful school but we are very happy with the local Spanish schools, so far.
Waiting for the bus in the mornings and afternoons I am always surprised by how many other children live here but get driven to Totana or Mazarron to school.
At weekends for football and our fit club we are constantly surprised by the number of Spanish kids we have but never see during the week.
Schools, in Spain, mostly finish next Friday the 11th, returning the Wednesday after Easter Sunday.
If you are thinking of moving to Spain, with children, please don't hesitate to contact us!!

The drive to Kings College takes 30 to 35 mins. We leave around 8:35am (not the 8:00am mentioned below) which is about the same time the Bus for the Alhama school picks up the Condado children at the slip road roundabout. School starts at 9:15am and ends at 4:30pm (last 'lesson' of the day is an activity such as a sport) and we have our 3 back around 5:15pm (not the 17:45 menitoned below). Children stay at the School for lunch (and school meals are compulsory). Extra subjects are available during the day as well such as Chinese, Piano lessons etc. Even though it's run as an English School about 2/3rds of the children are Spanish with the rest British along with a few Russian, Chinese etc. All non-Spanish children (e.g. ours) have a compulsory Spanish lesson every day.

Hi
My Cousin Lydia lives in a finca just about 5 mins drive from Campasol. They have two children who have been going to Kings College for the past 5 years. started when they were 5 & 7. Their Spanish is wonderful putting their parents to shame they have always spoke very highly of the college

Hi, do you know how many currenly go to Kings. I was looking at this for my daughter who is 13/14 (just year 9 in UK)
It looks a very good school but just wondered if there is a bus or if you have to drive. I know the school can be about 10k year - is this correct?
Many thanks
Alan

Hi Alan. I think it's still just our 3 girls that are going to Kings College from Condado though haven't checked if there's any new pupils from Condado this year - I know some were thinking about it if they took the step of moving out permanently. There is a bus service from near Alhama but it takes a long time (about 1.25 hrs) due to other pick ups/drop offs (and cost 150 euros per month per child) so we drive ours. The fees for Years 7 to 9 (our eldest is a Year 8) are just over 7,000 euros per year (plus lunches which are 100e per month). There's also a one-off enrolment fee which I think was 1,200 euros per child. Hope this helps. If you're serious you should contact the school for a tour and see what spaces are available in Year 9.
