Hi all, I was to believe these areas were communal for the blocks, I moved in to 267 this week to notice people had put lines up and put their block number against the line, is this correct to adopt or are they communal lines and anyone can use them. Thanks Sarah.

The short answer is, there are not designated washing lines, they are communal for everyone within that block.

We bought a long line and have put it on the roof on our block...always been free when we want it so far...although we have only seen one other line put up by another resident...only ever going to be an issue i guess if lots of us are there at one time - all washing sheets or something. Think the line was 5euro....:)

The washing lines on the roof of penthouse blocks like 267 are communal. Simple arithmetic will reveal that there are not sufficient lines for 32 owners in a block to "own " one each. All of the roof space is communal.
