Good news, cleaning of the communal areas is taking place, once this "deep" clean is completed normal 2 weekly cleaning should start..

There seems to be a few of us in 267 on here..if anyone wants to go in on a potential communal satellite dish for the roof, we would be open to ideas. Marty

Its not as expensive as you think.  UK TV is beamed from Astra 2 satellite and TV for German, French, Belgium etc is either Astra 1 or 3.  The latter are in a different direction to astra 2 so you can not have one dish for all nationalities.  On the Island we opted for 2 x 1.4meter dishes for UK TV each having a 8 way LNB.  That gives 16 connections in total.  Our German neighbours then had a seperate dish (only a 1 meter needed for this) again with a multi LNB.  Ours are put on top of the lift shaft roof as we have limited room due to the solar panels.  For a 1.4 meter dish its 400e (or 50e if all 8 join).  Then each apartment paid 150e for the connection from the dish to the apartment (uses the same conduit as the aerial so no wires showing).  You will also need a digital receiver which some people brought over or the satellite supplyer can provide.  Alternatively you can have a much larger dish put up as on block 276 and this allows up to 32 connections but unless you get a lot of people to join then can be costly.  Henry Reed knows more about this.  You will need to get permission from the commitee via Resortalia

Alternatively A2Z provide UK TV and with internet its 25e per month including IVA.  In theory we should not be able to view UK TV outside of the UK due to broadcasting regulations.  They have recently changed the Astra 2 satellite and have made the signal weaker so some areas in Spain (especially further south) have now lost UK all together.  There are always ways round this including watching TV via the internet and there are providers who will give you this for a monthly fee but again its not legal so how long it lasts???  There is also internet TV via a phone line (Cable TV) but I dont know if TDLT has the cables in for landlines.

The statutes governing Terrazas de`la Torre specifically forbid the installation of satellite dishes, however the aesthetic committee do give permission for dishes discretely located on the roof if they are for communal use. Without this permission contractors may be refused access to the resort and the cabling infrastructure of the block. Appliations for permission are best co-oordinated by the block president.

Hi, I think Richard has emailed all parties that responded to my email with up to date prices and trying to quantify the level of interest which of course  has an impact on costs. Permission has been given by the aesthetics committee so it is up to richard to  action the installation. The only complication is how to fund the upfront costs

I have most of the information i need , still a few people undecided . I will be emailing everyone that is a definate  tomorrow evening , i'm flying out on tuesday so i will be speaking to the installation company about lead times  , as henry said someone has to fund the initial dish installation and everyone else pays them, the payment for individual apartments and equipment is payed direct to the company.
