We have just had 145 euros taken from our bank account for our water bill. As we haven't been out since December this seems rather large and just wondered if anyone knew if there was a reason for this? Won't be out until June so won't collect our bills until then.
Thanks in advance for any answers

Have you recently brought? As Aguagest can take a couple of months to charge you for the connection fee. If owned for a while did you turn the water off in the bathroom - if not sometimes the toilet flush gets stuck and I know of someone who had this problem and did not realise for 4 months when they had a 700e water bill and had to fly out to investigate as they tryed to save money not having a key holder. If you have a key holder get them to check. If not does Polaris World still hold the 5th key (held back for snagging) if so we could pick it up for you and check.

Thanks for your reply. We have been owners for a few years and fairly sure Water was turned off when we left. We do have a keyholder so he would have contacted us if any leaks etc. Just wondered if there was some additional charge I didn't know about. I will try and contact the water company to get more details as I can't seem to sign up for the online service.
Thanks

Following on from Paul's email, same time, last year, this has happened to us again during this first quarter of 2015. According to our water meter we have used 74 cubic litres of water in 2 months. We have only ever used a maximum of 12 cubic litres in the height of summer, previously. We have been in touch with Hidrogea who say the meter has been checked and is not faulty. Resortalia say they are unable to help with private matters. Our key holder has found no leaks and confirms our water is turned off (as we had left it). It is suggested that we ask Solicitors to take up matters for us but, whilst we consider our €200+ bill, excessive, of course, the suggested route would cost even more. It's very odd that both really high bills (the one from the same period last year was €144.57 when normally our bills are €40/€50/€60) both come in the first quarter of two successive years, with bills in between being of a normal amount (much less than this latest one even when the apartment is used for several weeks at a time in the summer). Anybody have any ideas or suggestions about what might be happening please ? Marianne. 4801.

Sorry to hear about your problem.
Firstly register with hidrogea online so you don't have to worry about paper bills and you get instant email notification when you bill is ready.
https://hidrogea.aguasonline.es/en/inicio
Check with your lawyers that you don't have support , I do as I pay them 90 euros a year to sort my taxes , I know it can be done cheaper but I've used them so many times it far out weights the cost, the biggest one was with iberdrola there was no way I would of got to the bottom of it without there help so it's worth checking.
Hope you get to the bottom of it.
Richard

Hi all,
We have been residents on phase 1 now for 6 years and never had any problems with Hidrogea in the past until this last quarter with a consumption of 36m3 & a bill of €107.00. Our normal bills are around €50.00-€60.00. Our property agent has checked the apartment for leaks -all seems ok. Hidrogea are stressing that we must prove that it's not a fault our end (anything after the meter) before they will investigate throughly. The strange part is that with even the water being turned off at the valve (the meter cupboard) the meter still moved 2m3 in 5 days according to our property agent. We are out at Terrazas next week and will be doing our own checks to report back to Hidrogea & to get sorted.
We will keep you posted of the outcome,
Paul & Colette

Paul & Colette, seems we have very similar problems (see my post from 28th March). We are in block 48. I wonder if it's just blocks close to this one that are affected. Paul & Marianne 4801

My first quarter bill was 1842€ and my neighbour 600€ and neither of us have leaks.mwe are still waiting for answers from Hidrogea and Resortalia. In the meantime whenever I'm not there now I/we get the meter tap turned off by security either someone is stealing the water or there are issues with the meters and Hidrogea, block 44 and 43 Phase 1.

I am at a loss to know what to do next. Neither Hidrogea nor Resortalia want to help or investigate further. Involving Solicitors seems a little high-handed for a matter that, I believe, Resortalia should get to the bottom of. I can think of no alternative but that it must be contractors on site, able to access our supply (and that of the other affected parties). Something clearly happens in phase 1 (higher numbered blocks) during the first quarter of the year as this is the second year that it has happened to us. Resortalia's response when I question this ? - no helpful response at all.
