Cycle theft

Just a word of warning to those of you who cycle around the area.   A couple of weeks ago we had a bike stolen from outside Sabadell bank (opposite the police station) by an opportunist thief.  Both our bikes were locked together but someone must have come along with some cutters, cut through the lock and cycled off on John's bike.  A cool customer indeed... Although we're security conscious when it comes to leaving bikes anywhere, it seems some will stop at nothing.  And if anyone sees a 20 year old white Diamond Back out there...................

We had our bikes stolen too from outside El Patio. Again they were chained together and the theif was actually seen picking them up together and throwing them into the back of a van!

What we also discovered when we claimed on the insurance is that not only do they need to be securely locked, but locked to "an immovable object". So use the bike racks or window grills if you're in Balneario Plaza (Plaza 525)

Seems if they are determined they will stop at nothing!  Even so, if our bikes had been attached to an immovable object, they would still have cut through the lock, although obviously the bike racks in the plaza should be safe enough.  Presumably my bike wasn't good enough to steal!!!
