Hi,
I'm new to the forum and although id read a few others threads I didn't want to hijack their questions by adding my own.
I am looking for a holiday home, probably not to rent out, with my husband and young son. We've been holidaying in the mar menor area for last 7 years and really love it. We've mostly stayed at polaris world resorts due to the abundance of low rentals availale and I know they aren't for everyone but we did like how quiet they were! And they are nicely maintained grounds etc.
But now we area looking to buy we think we need something that will suit our needs longer term, so a bit closer to some life. We don't need somewhere right on the each but being quite close would be nice and being in walking distance (even its its up to 30 mins walk) to some shops, restaurants and bars would be good for us as our son gets older and even better when he gets to an age where he wants to come with friends!
So we've been looking in Santiago de la Ribera/lo pagan and we know the Los alcazares area but I'm worried they are too lively for us to actually live in. I'm therefore thinking Roda may offer them happy medium.... Do those of you who own here agree? I Have been a little put off roda by the high community fees but if it offers everything else we need maybe I have been too hasty? My other worry is crime and places being broken into... Is it any better or worse than in the costal towns?
