Condado community website?

Hi. I have a question for everyone who owns or visits Condado and checks in here from time to time and has an interest in the workings of the urbanisation.

Do you think that as a community we should have our own dedicated community forum or website aside from this one here at Eye on Spain, which is great but falls under a general umbrella?

As well as this EOS forum for Condado I see groups on Facebook, and many other sub groups appearing for separate gardens, and sometimes it seems like the community is fragmenting and the information we all want is in various places.

Do we need our own forum moderated by owners/residents where alongside all these other sources we could unite in the things that concern our resort such as the AGM's and what's on the agendas, communicating with our garden presidents, and our neighbours, etc. a place where the onsite businesses and groups could advertise their services and events and engage the residents/owners directly?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Hi Sounds a great idea but in practice will it work?

You need a dedicated person or a dedicated team, willing to spend time updating on a very regular basis & for "nowt"

Would you really want to spend your valuable time on Christmas eve or just prior to your New Years party adding an up date?

Good on you if you are but somehow I think that volunteers just might be eager at first but then like a lot of other things that are voluntary fall by the way side

I think someone has already started one.  Dont know if he had a good response as so many use Facebook etc..

Hi Hamibabe. Well it wouldn't be a blog, we have a couple of great blogs already, it would be a platform for residents /owners and visitors to talk about the issues or concerns with the rest of the community or to ask questions. It wouldn't needs a team to operate it, just us ordinary owners who would post up information and topics much the same way people do already on sites such as this or Facebook.

It could have subsections for separate gardens where those owners can discuss things that matter to their respective garden or anything really because we could operate it how we wanted.  I know a lot of people already use Facebook but Facebook is limited in what it offers, that's my view anyway.

i think as a community it would be really useful to have a site like that, just like some other urbanisations have already. We do have a great resort which is a great holiday choice which could be promoted to help the renters and onsite businesses but at the same time there are things that owners need discuss among themselves (such as AGM details) and I wonder how that can be achieved if the places people use are all over the place.

When we first joined EOS it was fantastic, we were all in the same boat, completeing , buying furniture, etc and we all happily shared information with each other, it was an invaluable site for new owners but in my opinion its now turned into the same as every other social media site, a place to upset and abuse ones neighbours with thoughtless comments and views. Does Jills site still not have a forum? I would not want to join yet another social media site, simply dont have the time    

A community forum for Condado has now been setup and is ready and waiting for your comments :) it has nearly 100 members already and is attracting a good number of page views and new visitors daily. It's not a blog so it will rely on other owners and visitors to start new topics of conversation and to add posts, especially from those living onsite.

if you have any ideas on how our own forum could best serve the community come and post your thoughts on our own forum.  I'm happy for others to be involved if you have ideas..

I know many do already use Facebook for your daily fix of Condado news and adverts for air con, home delivered food and water filters, etc, (myself included), but I would ask that you all give our forum a chance and see if you like it.
