Why some Condado Presidents think the very serious matter of drink driving is acceptable is beyond me.
No it's not OK for residents or anyone else to 'party hard' whilst being drunk behind the wheel and put the welfare of others at risk - it's quite simply shameful...........

Many UK police authorites offer £500.00 bounties for those reporting drink drivers when it leads to a conviction, I suppose that UK developments having their streets 'taken control of'' by the the local police authority is the difference.

Do we have FACTS (ie official evidence from a breathalyser) that this person was drunk. Do we have FACTS that this person was DELIBERATELY speeding. NO? Then hopefully it wasen't because he suffered a heart attack or stroke at the wheel.
A few years ago people would have waited till ALL the FACTS were KNOWN before castigating someone PROVEN to be in the wrong.
Now we have our own judges jury and executioners who just cannot wait to pounce. If the person is PROVEN guilty when ALL KNOWN FACTS have emerged then yes, have a pop. Otherwise if you want some drama watch Corrie or Eastenders.

Jim, this thread has been going on for a while, along with the thread on Facebook and the other forum. Had the driver of this vehicle suffered a heart attack or stroke, I am sure someone would have spoken up by now!
chaddyowl, is a president and appears to know more than most about this incident and he has stated that residents like to "party hard"?
The driver of this vehicle, weather drunk or speeding was definitely driving beyond his/her capabilities! Judging by the time of the crash and all the evidence, I feel that we are probably correct to assume that this driver was drunk!

the driver was Spanish ...for a change..and definitely didnt have a heart attack...havent heard that drink was involved..looks like speed and reckless driving...it doesnt really matter if it was drink, drugs or speed///all can cause equally fatal accidents...

Work in a factory of over 6000 people. Seen many incidents when it all looks to be going one way, only for the TRUE facts to emerge to PROVE the majority were wrong and owed an apology to what in turn was the victim. ASSUME can and will make an "ASS" of "U" and "ME"

OK Jim, lets assume this guy was sober, drug free and driving within the 20kph speed limit (although the damage involved does suggest a higher speed?).
Who is paying for the damage, if the guy was legally driving as Jim theorises, then surly we can claim off this responsible drivers insurance?
Also looks like another, sensible, law abiding & none speeding motorist has had another incident over this weekend.
I am litterally going to be scared to death walking home from the Clover.....I may walk across the golf course, surly these sensible drivers cant hit and kill me there?
I would suggest that everybody take additional care when using the paths around condado, as there appears to be somthing that is causing cars to carrear out of control, for no aparant reason?

I am coming to Condado this weekend, to watch the final stages of the Condado Demolition Derby! You may notice me running caustiosly down the sidewalks. Please dont beep, I will be nervous enough!
Need to enure my life cover is upto date before I get there although I am wondering if a week in Syria, Darfur or Camposol may be a safer option?

Hephaestus - I totally agree, its beyond stupid! However to many on this forum, it either doesnt happen, isnt a problem or is a matter of amsuement?
Maybe opinions will change when someone gets killed, or community fees rise?
Untill then, I guess irresponsible people will continue to treat condado like a game of Super Mario Kart.

Firstly Darren, I said the driver may have suffered a medical condition because many people on here ASSUME the worst first.
Secondly, You then preach about accidents becoming a source of amusement for people on here. You do remember your previous post to that don't you?

In the days when I attended our village pub for early bar, only I and a couple more used to arrive and leave on foot, the daft thing is that it's only a 10 minutes walk for it's farest customer. The drink driver's professions incuded two head teachers, who were 'holier than thou' on all things other than drink driving.

It is though all starting to become a problem, at Easter this year somebody managed to crash and knock down one of the large light poles in the central of the road outside P15. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. This was at approx. 3pm. Nobody was seriously injured but the light pole had to be removed and the front of the car if I recall was badly damaged. Police and Ambo called on the same occasion. The complex was without lights on the road from P15 downwards towards the Clubhouse for a night or two until the community worked out what had happened. I don't recall the complex having this level of traffic accidents in recent years so something is changing which is a worry if you have small children playing. It has to be speed related. I understand we are getting speed bumps on the inner roads. Any progress on this?
