Hi
I'm thinking of taking my car over to Spain from UK to use on a permanent basis. Can anyone give me any advice on how to go about it. I'm not keen on driving it to Spain, so any suggestions on how I can get it to Condado would be appreciated.

Aside from how to get it over without driving get it yourself, which I can't help with sorry, have you considered the costs involved in re registering it in Spain? I've heard it can be costly but again I can't give details as I've not done it, just repeating what I've read on the subject in passing.

Hi vivacondado
I've recently brought a UK registered car out to Spain to use while staying at our place on Condado.
you'll find a split in opinion online about the pros & cons of exporting a UK car versus buying a Spanish registered car. I drove my car down from Santander after bringing it on the ship from the UK. The drive was fantastic and I treated the whole thing as a little holiday flying back a few days later

The car is still on UK plates but I understand is still legal as it has valid UK tax MOT & insurance
im also informed I can keep it in Spain for up to six months when it will either have to be returned to the UK or registered on Spanish plates. That will obviously incur fees but I decided to have a UK car rather than a Spanish one so I'll pay to do this.
the car is in storage with a company when I'm not in Spain and they'll meet me off flights from San Javier or Alicante for a very reasonable €375 per year

If you dont fancy driving the car to spain and back and you get it shipped out will cost you £500/£600 each way, you might as well sell your car in the UK where you will get a better price than if you had to sell it in Spain and the money you will save on shipping can go towards a Spanish reg.

Spanish Police use this now and impound car if found not to have MOT , DVLA know the difference between genuine and fake MOT . Fake may be on system publicly but they know as they have another system for their use , so nice try but you are not fooling anyone

If your car is still insured through a UK policy, I suggest you check your European cover. Mine only covers 90 days so I couldn't leave the car in Spain for 6 months.
