Outside painting

Has anybody had the outside of their apartment painted and if so what is the cost we are in a penthouse design on phase 2 ground floor. Thanks Andrew.

Andrew, individual owners have painted their own terraces. There is lots of discussion about the materials to use on the owners forum.

Full block painting will be carried out using the block paint fund. I have seen estimates of 20,000 - 30,000 euros per block. Not sure how realistic these are but probably in the right ballpark.

For a 32 block apartment on phase 2 this would equate to less that 1,000 euros per apartment. All the more reason for block presidents to start thinking about rebuilding paint funds to spread the costs over a number of years. Again, this is being discussed on the owners forum.

Sorry Duncan, I was looking for someone who had got somebody in to do the work and how much they would charge. I would have though it would be quite a while before the repainting funds are back in the black as we are paying extra community fees just to balance the books. Thanks Andrew

As an aside, all block budgets are different. Our block paint fund is currently in the black.

We aren't paying extra fees to balance the books, we are lending to a reserve fund to cover for debtors to the community in the short term. When outstanding debts are repaid to the community, these loans will be returned to block balance sheets. Most likely to the paint funds although some block presidents may use the funds to reduce fees in the future.
