Hi everyone,
im out for a month in September and looking for a good car rental company. I've used dickmanns for the past 2 years and had no problem with them but it seems there prices have gone up.
Any feedback will be great.
Many Thanks

I always tend to use 'Doyouspain' they compare most rental companies. Make sure you tick the correct boxes on the left for fuel policy etc.
Prices do tend to vary greatly between different companies.

Surprised you have had no problems with Dickmanns. Did you take their insurance? Not so cheap once you add that on. I didn't, so they took 1000€ off my credit card and didn't refund for over a month. They charged way over the odds for petrol (full-empty and admin charge). Others have had nightmares with deposits not being refunded due to imaginary damages.
I also use DoYouSpain, but choose the full-full option deselect Dickmanns. There are other things to take into account such as queues and general service. I tend to use Interrent (Budget Europcar brand) or Firefly. Not the cheapest but have never had any problems with either of them on pick up or return and they don't do the hard sell on insurance and extras. Never any queues either at Alicante or San Javier.

Hi Duncan,
I have my own insurance it costs me £39 per year and always do full to full. Never had any bother with refunds the max I've waited is 5 days. I've looked on do you Spain but it's coming out about the same as I'm getting with dickmanns.
Cheers

You do tend to hear more about the 'horror stories' when it comes to car hire.
I have not had any issues at Alicante, I've used Firefly, Record Go, Keddy - all were good.
I do steer away from Dickmanns although many give good reports? Like Duncan says always choose full to full so you know where you stand with fuelling.
