Hi all
Can anyone give us some advice on changing the locks on the penthouses, we have been informed by one person that it is very difficult and expensive to change the front door lock and would probably better having an outside grill type door in front of the main entrance door as this would be a cheaper option, I notice from previous threads that people are quoting a figure oof 60 euros for each lock change or window are you all talking about quads? or can any penthouse owners who have already had this done please let us know what option they have used, also any air con advice for the penthouses would be useful we have already asked at the sales service office who informed us of a price but we were only told that this included a two year guarantee not 10 as previous posts, any advice or help gratefuly received.
We were over last week and the site looks fantastic we were able to go into our own apartment at long last to see the inside and were overjoyed with it, although we have not completed yet, we have been advised to await the LFO and just wish it would happen soon.
Best wishes
Julie and Steve

Hi Julieanne
I have been having the same thoughts as you about changing the locks on the main door on the penthouses. I have thought about having a door grille fitted to both the main door and the door out on to the upstairs patio at the back of the property. Someone also suggested grilles for the patio doors.
We are not expecting to complete before March 2008 so anything you find out would be helpful to those of us on the later phase. Given the posts I have read about "keys can be copied" and "imagine how many sets of hands your keys have passed through before you get them", I think I'd be looking for someone other than the builder to do the fitting of security grilles to doors.
I have sent a pm about the a/c. It is discussed on the Torre Alcantara forum, which is also a Taray development. See

Hi Rosita and Rob
Please let us know how you get on with your fitting of security grills. Are you having them fitted to both doors, both patio doors and the windows?
We have a corner penthouse and are particularly concerned about the kitchen and shower room windows because of the covering over the car parking area. Could you perhaps pm us with the details of what you are having done, who is fitting them and cost?
Thanks
Diane and Joe

Why change the locks would you in England If you thing it s safer why not change your lock with some one in a different block no cost involved just time no n one will know who you changed with and the result is the same.

Hi Everyone
Dont want to worry anyone but we recently stayed on la torre and Iwas speaking to a permenant resident who told me that there has been a spate of breakins where there is no signs of one and they have 24hr security. But he told me that its was the builders as they withhold a key until the licence comes through.
Changing keys seems a good idea but you would have to know the person really well.if you were to exchange like that. Personally I shall change the lock immediately
Hope my coments help
