Insurance for a UK registered car being driven in Spain

Hi we have bought on Dream Hills 11 ,a 2 bed apartment that's due for completion in Dec 07. We are no 77. Is there anyone out there who is also due for completion around then and who will be near us? I read the messages regularly but no one has mentioned completing around the same time as us.

We are coming out the end of May for our midterm visit with Atlas. Does anyone have any crucial advice for us?

We are supposed to be a Dec 07 completion as well but were advised by our agents that it would probably be more realistic if we take this to be Feb 08.  We have bought no. 45 so will probably complete a good while after you given that we are a couple of rows behind you.  I'm sure time will fly and hopefully by this time next year we will be the proud owners of our own "place in the sun".

We have purchased no 74 which means that Lynne and Terry are just behind us - or are we behind you? Anyway, we too are due to complete at the end of December 07, but we are also realistically expecting this to be more like Feb/Mar 08. Judging by comments on another DH2 message board there seem to be quite lengthy delays for those expecting to complete around now. Mainly to do with certificates of habitation as far as we can gather.

I don't think it can be anything to do with building delays as they seem to be making good progress. We made our mid term visit early in March (also with Atlas) during which we visited the site (several times), chose the white goods for kitchen, obtained our NIE numbers and activated our bank account. It also gave us a good chance to check out the area generally.

Not sure what advice we can offer - we are novices to this too, but we would be happy if you want to send any private messages - questions or otherwise. Looking forward to meeting you all in due course.

We've purchased No 87 and were told Dec 07, but do not see this happening due to the long holiday in August the builder will take.

Due to go out end of Aug and will be able to judge a time through progress of building work.

Will post progress when seen.

We are due to complete end of December also and our plot is number 130 so ours maybe more into the build than those around the 70's and 80's, according to the recent progress report the only thing left to do is the kitchen and bathroom units

Also not sure when the pool is due for completion as a bit confusing on the contract - anyone know

We are due to come out for our midterm in July, so will keep you posted, but all seems OK this end

You're right builders seem to be running 2 to 3 months behind.  There does seem to be a delay regarding the licence if u have a spanish mortgage as i understand it needs to be produced before funds are released.  Rather than have a spanish mortgage, you could borrow against your english property (if u have the equity).  However, interest rates are higher than spanish rates but u dont have the uncertainty of any currency fluctuations.  We are over at end of May (in our property for the first time :) )  If you want to call to see us, please feel free.  If u send me a pm I will give you our number.

Ours was due to be finished January 07 we were told it wasready on 12th April after the final inspection from our agents although the builders actually said it was ready on 26th February and we are completeing on the 22nd May we are on R5

Good luck with the move Conrad. Are you and your family moving out there permanently?

I am completing on 19th June hopefully and I can't wait! Will be out there for a few weeks this time.

Whereabouts is R5 I am not completely familiar with the layout as we have only been there the once so far

Would also be interested to know if communal pools are due to be ready in your area

Also, I would be interested to know if anyone reading this is moving out permanently would be good to see what sort of mix of permanent residency and holiday homes that there will be

Attridge R5 is the last row before the piso piloto i am in one of the quads

pools are ready in R5 area but only for blocks 409-551 use
