I am looking for some advice.
We recently came over to NM where we have a ground floor apartment in Portal 1.
It is the first time we have been over since the electricity was fully on and the lifts began working.
During the day we noticed the noise from the power plant in the parking area as we came in and out of the block but didnt think to much of it until that evening.
However the noise of the plant continued through out the night with a running motor which sounded like the lift motor gears moving every 20 seconds or so. We thought it was the lift being used initially (this was about 9pm) but the noise continued all night with it being so bad it could be heard in both my sons bedroom and ours and it was impossible to get any sleep.
I have emailed the Chair of the Urbanisation as this cannot be right. Surely this power plant must be sound proof or at the very least the lift motor system must be suitable for a residential block or the noise reduced at night. I am writing to find out if other residents have this problem in other blocks (I guess it must only affect the lower floors) or anyone has any solutions to this as not only does it affect are enjoyment of the apartment but are ability to sell the property in the future if we so wished.
I would be grateful for any comments and advice as this is very worrying
