Hi All

Been told of a thread somewhere on EOS saying that once the new airport is up and running at Corvera, the flightpath will be over San Cayetano and the flights will not be restricted to certain times during the day as they are currently at San Javier.

Will keep looking for the thread and post in more detail once i find it.

Hi

If you look under the thread of "whats the area like?"  on the main eos threads you will also see a heading regarding the new airport where there are lots of threads regarding this issue and some useful links, the airport is not up and running at the moment it is planned for 2009, hope this helps as we are worried too as to the question of the flight path being over our development or not.

This map on this link has been described as "the worst map in the world", but it shows the areas affected by the flightpaths of the new airport at Corvera.  It doesn't look to me as if San Cayetano will be affected that much.  I think the village to the NE is probably La Tercia.

Hopefully, if the planes get anywhere near San Cayetano, they will have already gained enough height not to be a problem.

Ever the optimist!

Yes I agree the map is very hard to read, but like you we think it looks more like La Tercia but agree if it is our development that is affected  then we hope they have gained height and we dont hear it, we are keeping everything crossed that it does not happen.

Another link that shows that the airport at Corvera has a runway running SW to NE (or NE to SW, depending on which way your plane is facing!).  Planes taking off towards the NE would have to bank to the East and follow the C3319 out towards San Javier to fly over San Cayetano.

Looking at the Michelin 123 Zoom map of Costa Blanca, the site of the airport looks to be about 20Km from San Cayetano as the crow flies, so I think the planes will be high enough up not to cause a problem, even if they do fly overhead.

Again, ever the optimist!

Diane
