Hello All
Latest news from Hipodromo by a friend of mine who is also an owner there. Her has just returned from a view of the site with the news very little work is being done. It now seems The completion date will be end 2008 more likely 2009. The additional blocks which are still awaiting permission will probably not affect the blocks under current construction as it is proposed as they are down the hill a separate road in to them will be made and they would be fenced off, this would hopefully allow the habitacion licences to still be granted to the existing blocks. There is however the small matter of the construction of the other See you all in 2009.two blocks until they are done then no occupancy will be granted. It seems Aifos are indeed the slowest builders in the world.

Hi, welcome to the mad house!!!
I was wondering where you got the information from about the finished blocks being fenced off? as there is a new law in Spain which stops developers completing on half of developments. The law states that the whole development mustbe completed before occupancy is permitted. This is the Law!!! As I have stated several times before THIS DEVELOPMENT CANNOT BE FINISHED UNTIL THE LICENCE IS GRANTED.

Hi Everybody, We were speaking with Aifos - London last week about Ascot Block and we were informed that the current latest guesstimate for the site completion along with habitation licence is April 2009 with all paperwork being in place for handovers possibly by June 2009! ;-) But who knows anymore! We put our deposit down in 2002 when our kids were mere babes, now we just hope we see completion before we retire!! Ho - Ho I jest not! Is anybody running a book on possible completion dates? I fancy a wager on March 2010.....What odds would you offer? Drinks at my place if the wager comes in..............Bye

Hello all, Just posted some new pictures of most of the blocks, managed to spend about 40 mins on site on my own on a Sunday Evening. took loads of pics and a couple of small AVI Clips which I will try to post on youtube.com. I hope some of you will be able to determine what blocks are where, I managed to get into what I thought was my Flat but later found out I was in the one underneath!! anyhow, they are VERY SMALL APARTMENTS, I myself am not really bothered about the size, just worried about if we will ever get to use them, mry Estate agent friend told me that the reason the other blocks have not been built yet is that they need access to the other blocks and certain blocks like Espuela etc would be in the way (Makes Sense) once the farthest blocks have been finished they will then continue with the others??
Regards,
Bavit Dailey.

Great Pictures, but big worries!! I have pictures from last August which are virtually the same, no progress at all, apart from external rendering, the bathrooms were in then and the tiling and floors were down. Isnt anyone slightly concerned why none of the other blocks are started, the development was started in Sept 2005 and has taken 22 months to build 4 blocks, so with 5 blocks outstanding how can it be finished in less than another 22 months? Why are bathroom suits going in now? Im sure we are going to be expected pay for the finished ones soon, Spanish law states this cant be done, but Aifos havnt stuck to any rules so far, so why now. I have a copy of building Licence 769/03 which has been granted for 232 housings, so far the four completed block covers 160, so why arnt they building at least 72, or another block? Yes the frame of Herredura and foundations of Tordo were in 11 months ago! I have contacted the town hall and although Aifos have applied for an extention to the licence it hasnt been granted because they havnt paid and that was the start of 2007. Come on everyone!!! We are being taken for a ride!!!! isnt it about time we got together and got some answers!!! or am I still DOOM!!?! Or we can all sit back and wait anothet 3,4,5 years for what!?! why are we letting crooks ruin our lives!?! anyone who doesnt agree with this or has something to say, say it, dont just sit back till next July to see pictures of Derby rendered!!!!

Hi everyone, I have just received a letter from the lawyer appointed by the selling agent some 5 years ago and this is the first communication from them in all that time !!! They don't know as yet but they're "FIRED" as a result of their incompetence.
Anyway the letter reads as :
Dear Mr Cook, this is to provide you with a progress report regarding Hipodromo complex. Due to a new planning regulation implemented by Mijas Town Hall in 2006, there is no possibilty for the promoter company to hand over the complex block by block. Currently at Hipodromo 6 of the 10 blocks are finished or nearly finished, however , due to the mentioned new regulation Aifos has now to finish the remaining 4 blocks prior to hand over of the properties. These 4 blocks have not been started yet, as Aifos is still finishing the application for the appropriate building licence in order to start the construction. For these reasons, I am very sorry to inform you that, the completion date for Hipodromo complex is now scheduled around late 2009.
Letter dated 22nd June 2007
Pretty depressing reading I guess.
Regards to you all
Graham

Hi All all seems to have gone quiet on the Hipodromo front - have you all stopped going to Spain?
I have been recently and the constructed blocks seem to have been externally finished - I only viewed from a distance as am going up to inspect next week Previous to this in July electricians were active internally.
Aifos Manchester advises me licence granted for the remaining blocks and completion mid 2009 as expected.
I will forward photos in a couple of weeks

Hi everyone,
I have contacted Mijas Town hall and they have confirmed in writting that Aifos 'have made no deposite payment nor any other document has been presented' so the Manchester Aifos office are lying. The licence at present if for 232 housings, no more!! Aifos applied earlier this year to extend it to cover all the development (which they sold us 3,4,5,6 years ago!!) but havnt paid for it, so it wont be finished mid 2009. It took 2 years to build 4 blocks so if there was a full licence in place (which there isnt) and they started building tomorrow (which they can't) and build 5 blocks, a swimming pool, roads etc etc, in the same time as 4 shoddy blocks, which probably will have been vandalizes and looted and need re-doing then they would be completed 18 months from now, so late 2009 is complete rubbish!!!
They obviously were planning in selling the finished blocks once completed, but new spanish law stops that now, so it looks like Aifos have just down tooled until they can get this changed!! I personally dont want to have an appartment on a building site! But thats just me!! Lets all sit and wait for some more pictures of the 4 rendered blocks!!!!!!!!!!
