old story Community debtors

Hi all

Our inspection trip has been postponed as Key Mare have said that they have suffered delays due to strikes and because of delays with the habitation licence due to a change of local mayor.  We were wondering if anyone else has had the same news - is this just affecting the houses or are some of the apartments affected also?  We are keen to hear news of the sites and general progress from anyone who has been on an inspection trip.

Our inspection trip has been put off as well ,however this week I have had an email from my laywer explaining that I must be ready to complete on 13th July 2007.I find this strange as we have not been over on our inspection trip .Is there anyone else out there in the same position ,also have all those who have been on their inspection trip had their completion dates yet.

We also had a letter talking about completion dates in the middle of July - but I think that these are out of date - given the delays and cancelled inspection trips - i'd give them a call to check but i doubt that they would expect us to complete without an inspection - they are definately getting log-jammed and just need to issue a statement on when they expect to re-programme everything - we were hoping to spend august in spain but this is starting to look unlikely - please let us know if you hear anything further.

Hi David. We are buying on block 7. We had a letter advising us of completion and handover dates for this block are at the beginning of August. However we've not heard anything since nor have we had a date for pre-inspection. In reference to the pre-inspection; we've contacted Keymare and our agents MASA but none of them have been able to provide us with a date. It would be nice to know, even approximate dates. We are not bothered when it is, but it will give us some idea when booking a family holiday. We were intending to go to Roquetas between the 3rd and 4th week of July so that if we had to attend the pre-inspection we were on hand but it sounds like there are delays and these visits will be in August. Obviously we will look at other destinations for our family holiday now instead of hanging on!  As far as we are concerned we won't complete without first doing a pre-inspection or courtesy visit first. To be fair to MASA they've said the same.  If you hear anymore please let us know.

Key Mare called me yesterday and sounded quite positive about the situation.  "Maria" said that they were not too concerned with Pueblo Salinas compared to the "other one" (I presume Thalassa up the hill).  She basically said that the builders had got ahead of themselves on the notices which was why we got the previous letters indicating completion in mid July - those notices were withdrawn.  She would not be drawn on dates but said that completions were taking place this week on the first block of apartments and that she would expect to get information from the builders this week or maybe next.  She said that the common parts (pools etc) were finished - judging by the most recent photos it looks there or there abouts although the grass could do with the sort of rain we have been getting here.   The other reason for her calling was to say that you cannot sign up to the water and electricity with a link to a UK bank account - so I need to open a bank account asap in Spain.  As the connections are our responsibility we still have to complete if there are delays here - so she was helpfully telling me to get my act together or it would be without power on completion!!.  However, i was going to use Caja Murcia and getting any response out of them is proving tough at the moment.

We remain hopefullish that we will get an early July inspection and late July completion so that we can spend the rest of the school holidays over there - it is getting quite tight though.  Let me know if you hear anything further.

HI David. Thanks for your reply. We have just had an e-mail from Petra at Keymare. She basically said that they had a meeting yesterday and our block (7) would be ready for a courtesy visit between the 9th and 13th July. She said we would recieve a letter this week with a form for the water and electric. I presume we have to sort our own travel arrangements out for the courtesy visit? i will contact our agents to see if they can help (it's about time they did something). The only thing which is worrying us is like you the responses from Cajamurcia. We sent our documents off 2 weeks ago for the account and the mortgage and haven't had any reply, we've even sent e-mails for Virginia to confirm she recieved them but haven't had a reply. 

I suppose until now it's not been reality but it's starting to get to the panicking stage.
