Whilst the swimming pool situation may be a disappointment I would be happy if the thing was built and argued about later. As far as I know there isn't even a hole in the ground on the swimming pool site at the moment.
There is a good municipal swimming pool just down the road priced at 2 euros which is a subsidised price of course.
The real cost of opening a pool to the public is much higher since,
1. A lifeguard must be present.
2. There must be adequate showers and changing facilities.
2. There must be public liability insurance. Any accident claims could run into millions.
The idea that we could just open up a private pool to the public is just daft.
The idea that Mirador could use these arguments to avoid building a pool at all seems more likely to me.
