We are buying on phase 6, and opened up a current account with CAM in Sucina on Monday, All very smooth, effecient, proffessional and in perfect English. Internet access demonstrated and enabled. Maria there did advise that they would be relocating the Sucina CAM international to a new branch in the HR resort  itself and moving the HR accounts to that HR branch.

This may be useful info for those still undecided on banks.

PS the resort looked really great and has come on in leaps and bounds. Even met a few people in our  Hotel Costa Najeros that were completing this week.

Hi Graham and Gill

We were also in the CAM bank on Monday (about 12.30pm until 2.30pm Spanish time) and totally agree with you concerning Maria's professionalism.   We too had the internet demonstration, so have happily gone with the CAM mortgage.   We also went to HR just afterwards and saw the outside of our Phase One apartment and sneaked an internal view through the window of the ground floor apartment underneath ours.   It's a pity we didn't bump into you while we were there.   We also went to Polaris World HQ to take the form authorising them to manage on our behalf the setting up steps and services.   While there, we asked about the utilities and were informed that they had learned from problems with their previous developments and will be organising the utilities to be in place, even attempting to get them working within two weeks of the designated timetable (once the 30 days of the title being passed to the buyer has been reached) - I'm hoping this will materialise after horror stories I have read on the other resorts.   We complete on 28th November so here's hoping ...........

I am attempting to add some of our photos onto Eye on Spain under 'photos 18.10.07' so take a look.

Hi I've been a bit taken by surprise that my completion date is 1 November when I had been expecting ealry spring. As a result I am so behind ith planning no bank account etc. If I go over to Murcia for three days do tyou think that wil be long enough to set up an account and sort out some of the other details I need? Any good pointers on insurance? Do we need spearate buildings insurance or is this covered in the geneneral monthly fee we need to pay?

We too went with CAM and found them very helpful, Maria set up a current account by e-mail, which allows us to transfer funds before we go over, although we have to go to the branch to get the internet access open. We are doing everything by e-mail even the Mortgage, and hope its all arranged by the time we go to sign Title deeds in week starting 12th Nov. The info they need for the Mortgage is much simpler than home; Passports scanned, copy  of purchase agreement, credit check document from a credit search company, utility bill, copy of existing mortgage payments, thats al that comes to mind but Maria will send you a list the required dicuments.

Insurance; - Polaris sent an e-mail suggesting an insurance company (Zurich) who quoted approx 250 euro , this included buildings and contents and public liability (if you intend to rent). I am sure there are better offers than this but without recommendation from someone its hard to judge. Perhaps someone has some idea from Mar Menor or Le Torre.

John many thanks. Maybe we'll bump into each other when I get over there.
