Hi there i actually carried out my own snagging along with both my wife and Nicola (our estate agent) we both took some photos and drew up a list of defects.  There were 4 main design faults along wiyh the usual cosmetic snags.  The next day Nicola e-mailed my lawyer the list and photos of the apartment, with the instructions that i would not complete untill the 4 main faults were sorted out.  I think this is only fair due to the fact we have been waiting over a year for completion and have been treated unfairly by the developer.  Did your surveyor find any faults ? and is anyone else reluctant to complete?

We are also in Block 1 but on the 2nd floor. I have arranged for an architect based in Marbella to go and snag our apartment as soon as I have signed the deeds. I enquired about getting defects done before i signed the deeds however both the Architect and my Spanish solicitor told me that this is not the way it works in Spain and you sign the deeds then get the snagging done and set out in spanish  on Arenals forms and arenal then have 15 days to sort them out. I didnt see a lot wrong when I was there a few weeks back but I dont want the snagging done until the water and electric are connected up as I feel the biggest defects are going  to be with the services. I will be suprised if you can withold signing the deeds and settling payments till the snagging is done as I have been categorically told by a number of parties that this cannot be done, having tried this approach myself. Good luck anyway, I am still awaiting the news that the electric and water contracts are sorted and having been told they will be sorted in 2 weeks is now be  entering its 4th week'
