Has anyone been contacted recently by MRI about completion dates?

The reason I ask is that there seems (at best) to be some sort of communication breakdown between Proindal and MRI. MRI have always told us since we purchased in April 06 that our apartement in block 2 was due for completion in February 08. In August 07 we visited the Proindal office and were told that block 2 had never been scheduled for completion that early. The time table given to us for block 2 on that visit was summer 08 and probably about July to August.

MRI aftersales called us earlier this week and told us that our apartement was due for completion in Feb 08 and asked us what we were doing about furniture and finance etc.  I told them what Proindal had told us about completion dates and they went away to check their facts. I got a follow up phone call from MRI yesterday and was told that they had been in touch with Proindal and had confirmed that our apartment in block 2 was now definitely due for completion in March or April 08.

I contacted Proindal direct about this and received confirmation today of pretty much what they told me in August. I.E that blocks 3, 2 and 1 were projected for completion in the summer of 08 with completion of block 1 aimed at September. It is block 4 that they hope to complete by March.

I have to ask myself "who is wrong about this?" 

On past performance I have to say probably MRI.

                   proindal informed me a couple of weeks ago that completion for blocks 1 - 3 would be ready in august 08

                   mri and it would appear that our solicitor are not doing a very good job because our contract says second
                   quarter of 08.so that should make it at the latest june 08. so they are already in breach of contract.
                   but as you say proindal have never had any intention of completing before august 08

feb 08 is completion of block 5.6.7. but i think april may . if you look at the build (photos) no way 1.2.3

are going to be feb as they started with block 7. also a 2 month leeway on  completion date .

i like to think that if it  takes a bit longer and job is well done it will be worth it .

anyone can put a few cowboys in to get the build finnish.

i walked along the beach to sprit mar  they started after portofino the finnish outside is not

at a good standard  the paint is coming off already,plus alot dark wood in the building ,

no good in the sun.  i  think  its worth the wait  . we signed in feb 05  so 2 or 3 months  be ok.

Thanks for the responses. To honest I am not bothered about a bit of dealy and like aandi would prefer a job well done than a rushed one. What does bother me is MRI's incompetence and possibly even dishonesty.

Proindal have been back on to me agin and are adamant that no one in their organisation would have given out the completion dates that MRI are telling people.

Sorry, but Proindal have asked me to remove this post because copying an email from them to me on this site is apparently a breach of confidentiality. They don't mind me relaying what they said but they won't allow a straight cut and paste.

The gist of the email was that Sam Jones at Proindal was surprised to hear the completion dates that MRI had provided and stated that no one from Proindal would have told them that.

We were contacted only only last week by MRI saying completion for block 1 is February/March.  From reading the forum it would appear that this may not be correct.  Also starting to have conversations with Capital Financial about a mortgage, but if the developer has them in place and we would be penalised if we dont use them, anyone advise on the best thing to do?

I can only reiterate that Sam Jones at Proindal told us a couple of days ago that block 1 is the last scheduled for completion and she said they aim to get it done by about September.

i think some of mri staff do not look at the site properly .

i was told i was in block 3 back in 05 as the work had not started they went from

book  right to left ,also first block started no1.2.3.

after 3 yearsyou think  they may ask proindal ,or is it a case of  got the

commisson next one please.

we asked when we signed is kitchen fitted mri did not know,

shows how much home work they do ,in the end asked aii information from proindal.

i must  say who have been very good, and if all go to plan may look at  another  site

they are going to start.  and yes you got it.

but for block 7.6.5 too be released first for cah flow for proinal

seems more likely.

Hi Guys, just found this site and i think it's great.....from what i can see there are many unhappy people here with MRI..not suprising, i also bought with them back in March 06, and what i will say in there defence, when i stood in the office of Proindal looking at floor plans etc, the sales rep (no names no packdrill) actually asked the person from Proindal, who by all accounts has been replaced by Sam, when the completion date was, ( probably, i have a feeling, the sales rep was new) and was told that "All Blocks WILL be complete by Feb/Mar 2008. I too am slightly peeved as to not get my pad in the sun on time, but i think perhaps what might be happening here is the developer covering his own tracks for not completing on time.....In my eyes MRI did me proud and i have always had regular contact from the lovely girls over there...

Anyway here's to meeting all of you happy going people in the future...should be a blast, that is of course if we get to complete this side of 2010.....

Looking to find out the completion date for block 6 my contract says second quarter 2008.  Does anyone have Sam Jones number as I would like to give her a bell and ask her a few questions as she seems to know more about everything than either the solicitors or MRI, both of which seems to be doing feck all bar taking our dough!

We went into proindal office late August and dealt with Sam.  She took us around the showflat and have to say we were very impressed by it's very high standard.  Sam was very well informed and most professional.

We have bought in block 6 and Sam told us that blocks 6 and 7 would be complete by Feb 2008 and it would be approximately the end of July before all the remaining blocks were finished.

We have uploaded a photo taken from a penthouse in block 6 and have to say the view looks amazing.  Hope our view will be as good as that one.

We have recently been contacted by MRI Rental Team who claim to have joined up with Travelsupermarket.com and Jet 2 to offer full package holidays. Dont know if this is going to happen or not!  Has anyone else heard from them?

Not sure if any of you have bought in Block 4 but I was told yesterday by MRI that the completion date for this block was March 2008 but the developers would not hand over the property until the end of June 2008 following the issue of Habitation Licenses

Just for info and further to my last posts about completion dates. MRI have finally come back to me and admitted that completion of our block (2) is September 08.

They can't explain why we have been told Feb since day one nor why when I queried it with them last week they suddenly came up with March / April.

Another thing that MRI have got wrong in the past is the value of our property. We purchased in April 06 and in early 07 I asked MRI if there had been any movement in price over the preceeding year or so. The aftersales coordinator came back to me and gave me a new figure for our apartement which represented a rise in value of about 25% over that period. I was astounded but of course very pleased. I asked how she had arrived at the figure and she told me that apartments the same as mine were now being sold at Portofino for that price.

When I visited the Proindal office in the summer it became aparent that there had been no movemnt in price at all since we had purchased. The girl at proindal (I'm pretty sure it was Sam Jones) almost fell off her chair when I told her the price that MRI had quoted several months before. She told me that apartments like ours had certainly never been priced anywhere near that figure.

We have today received a letter from Capital Finance stating the following completion dates:

Block 1: June 2008 + 3 months = September 2008

Block 2: June 2008 + 3 months = September 2008

Block 3: June 2008 + 3 months = September 2008

Block 4: March 2008 + 3 months = June 2008

Block 5: January 2008 + 3 months = April 2008

Block 6: December 2007 + 3 months = March 2008

Block 7: December 2007 + 3 months = March 2008

Capital Finance are now wanting to look at finding us a mortgage. Anyone out there haave any experience with them?

People who have followed this thread will know that Proindal and MRI have now confirmed that completion of our apartment (in block 2) has now been put back to September 08.

7 months later than the February 08 that we were originally told.

I sent an email to our lawyers a couple of weeks ago asking if there is anything in the contract about the build being so late. No reply so... I sent them another a couple of days ago asking the same question.

I got a reply today which said nothing about the contract and just stated that completion was due in March 08!!!!

Does anyone know a good English speaking Spanish lawyer? I am really fed up with the MRI recommended lawyers.
