Think we all know that most should have their money back but somehow I think that may be very difficult.
If you loose then perhaps go for a maximum interest only mortgage and rent it out to cover some of the costs and sit it out as the market will return and this is a very good development,area with no future building being allowed it may very well prove to be a reasonable medium to long term investment , unlike many less desirable areas with poor quality builds.
Its a lot of money to just walk away from
