just to say that completion on my villa 13.27 went without a hitch yesterday, my lawyer tells me that everything is in place and I have a habitation certificate plus electric and water, I could'nt attend but I have a good lawyer. so see you all in january.

Hmmmmm...spoke to my lawyer yesterday and he said that when he spoke to the Town Hall they informed him that they DO NOT have the habitation certificate and were not expecting it until mid-January at the earliest.

Someone is telling porkies !!!

You may be right, because having spoken to my lawyer the very next day she told me that the cert hab was'nt issued and should'nt have been told that it had, but on the plus side water and electric was connected  which she say's is unusual without it, so she is confident that it will be issued and soon.

But hey, who cares I have now got my villa and can move in.

Couldn't agree more, who cares as long as you have got your villa. Ther are many others, elsewhere, who still do not have their H.C's, even up to 4 years after taking over their properties, but they seem to be OK.

I suppose that the only ones really bothered, are those who bought to sell, to make a fast buck, but can't sell without the certificate. Tough, I bought mine for me, my missus, & my family, to enjoy the country, the area, and each others company ( and, after being at SG last week, the company of the people who will be there - we've met some great people who will make this place a great place to be at).

Like you we bought to reside and enjoy, I agree with your comment it does look like that those who are moaning are the fast buck merchants and as you say "tough" we will get our cert hab's one day so until then enjoy.

I have noticed that you come from Looe, I used to stocktake at the pub by the quayside for the landlord a Mr Halliwell and his good wife Sue, more than likely gone now as it was quite a while ago, nice part of the country.

Nice to hear from you, small world isn't.  We knew the couple John and Sue Halliwell, they managed the Harbour Moon at West Looe, left the area mid 90s believed to be living in Portugal now, a very nice couple.

Mary tells (orders) me to say she would like a villa with an extra door, if you're not busy, or booked up!!

Tell you what, don't your grills look good! The copyright was worth big bucks, but I'm not saying how much I got for it!! As you said last week, the lights look great, and the whole developement is starting to look as we all imagined some 4 years ago.

well i certainly havnt bought for a fast buck, but i am also not selling up and moving to spain yet, but it seems to me that it is best to do things properly. I wish all those people moving in without habitation certificates good luck but dont tar those of us who wont as the fast buck brigade there must be a reason for this document and i want it before i move in and i will have it and i dont care how long masa have to wait for their final payment, I am not in the position where i have to move in at any cost so i will do it properly.

My sentiments exactly. OK there are some people who have to move in asap as they've sold up in the UK, or for various other reasons, and I'm happy for them that they can start enjoying a new life in Spain.  However I'm like you in that I'm not intending at the moment to go and live in Spain, and so would like all the legalities in place before I sign on the dotted line. Hopefully that won't be too long and then we can all start to reap the benefit of our 4+ years of waiting.

Hi Ian,

Obviously, there are a number of people buying on SG, who do not wish to sign until all legalities are in place, and that is their choice. Additionally, there  appear to be even more  wishing to sign, despite the HC's not apparently in place, that is also their choice. However, there are a number who wish to sell, but cannot without the HC. Why are they selling? I am only aware of 1, a lady whose family circumstances have changed over the last 4 years of waiting, by which she has to sell, and I do feel for her. However, I also met a guy, last year, at one our our villas, who, when I shouted over 'hi, neighbour', he shouted back that they intended to sell a.s.a.p. as they did not intend to use the villa at all.

We do not 'have to move in as soon as possible', as 'we'd sold up in the UK'. We  own our home, together with 2 commercial buildings, leased out long term, and are buying our villas at SG using our own funds. I am also happy for the people who have already moved out, even without having their HC's, and are now enjoying the life they signed up for, some 4 years ago.

We intend to use our properties as soon as we can, for our family, both immediate and distant, and friends. If it means not having the HC's, so be it. We spoke to a guy at another Golf Developement, last year, who is still waiting for his, despite having been there for over a year, and he wasn't concerned, either. I must admit, I am still to hear of any disasters happening due to the absence of the HC, to date. Also, the fact the the Mayor of Murcia City has already toured SG, and is apparently responsible for the road lights being turned on, is in itself, very reassuring.

Look forward to seeing you at SG with HC in hand, sometime in the not too distant future.

You should really see the job that Tony has done on his Bedroom/Bathroom entrance - it is superb, and really enhances the property -very, very, strongly recommended!!!
