I have spoken to Noelia from san Jose today. She has told me they have now recieved the necessary permission as a result of the meeting in the Town Hall in Jumilla on Friday 21st Dec.

The paperwork must now pass through the land registry to formalise the approvals and San Jose hope to now be in a position to offer bank guarantees to all there clients by the end of January.

 

Sounds positive, only time will tell.

Many thanks for sharing your news with us all.  I now have everything crossed (fingers, eyes, legs....!)  I assume this means that they expect the approvals to be finalised by the land registry before the end of January if they are going to issue bank guarantees, and that they will be going ahead with building?

John and I will be eating 12 grapes on the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve, to bring us luck in the new year, and suggest that everybody does the same!

The grapes is a Spanish tradition.  On each stroke of midnight on New Years Eve, you eat a grape.  Sounds simple to start, but come the 7th or 8th chime it starts to get tricky!  (*Tip - make sure the grapes are seedless!!)

Its easy if they are peeled and seedless if not well Ive never managed it yet.  They are washed down with Cava.  Interestingly, in this neck of the woods they always see the new year in at home with family and none of the restaurants  bars, or discos open until 1 or 1.30 in the morning and then they party until 8 or 9 in the morning.  Ive never managed that either. Have managed 6 in the morning but my feet hurt for days afterwards from dancing.

We wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2008.  Have a great new year.  We are of to the ski slopes in Andorra with a dozen Spanish friends and will take grapes with us.

I have just received an e-mail from Pilar that states that meeting did not take place!

More negatives - but I'm hanging in there !

Any chance you could forward me that e-mail so i can pass it on to my agent  and hopefully find out what the hell is going on.
