Hi All

Although the photo's look great, I am seriously considering pulling out even at this late stage as the exchange rate  between the Pound and the Euro is making my apartment very expensive.  I am going to have to move all of the funds from the UK and wonder if anyone can tell me what price the apartments are on sale for at the moment?  Does anyone who is living out in Spain have a feeling of whether the property market is slowing down and prices are falling?   I would welcome any comments to help me make a final decision.

Thanks

Dueno

I think its hard to be sure what the property market is doing here.  I have property in Barcelona and lots of friends in Malaga area with property too. In Malaga they all think its pretty stagnant, but if anything is moving its the bottom and top end, whereas we are mid range. However, agents I spoke with in Fuengirolla said Golf still remains the strongest sector, so who knows what will shift. I don't think prices are very much above the off plan rates, maybe €20 -€30 k up but not  a lot more and I suspect the more that come on market the prices will push down if English sellers are going for English buyers.

Yes the Euo is a killer for those moving funds from UK, a Euro mortgage may make more sense if you are going to part fund it with Euro rental income, but remember that it wont impact buyers/renters from Eurozone area so if retailing it then makes sense to not use a British agent I think.
