We are buying in block D2. We were there on 25 November and took photos which will soon be on the site. Both the Aifos sales office and Casa Blanca stated that completion will be July 2007.
A show flat should be available for inspection purposes around February 2007.

Have just had a reply from my representative who contacted Aifos a couple of days ago. The show flat is apparently in the "planning stage" but it will be a month or so before there is any liklihood of this becoming available. Then they said there have been "delays" which puts the finish date back to at least September. This message was last edited by crozzey on 2/6/2007.

I am new to Eye on Spain and have found some of the messages I have read Informative
I am buying a penthouse in Block B2 ,I am sure it does not need me to remind anyone I was advised an 18 month completion date from April 2003 when I paid my initial deposit (I think my calender must be fast I thought it was now 2007).
I have friends who are buying in block B1
I am due to get some pictures in the next week or so I will upload them when I can
If anyone interested I have a web site regarding my property not to sure if I can post it on this message board ( do not want to brake any rules this early). its not for commercial reasons I have a number of people and friends who check it out for progress information
Kind Regards

We put down a deposit in April 2003 on the understanding that it would be ready in june 2005,on the 30 November 2006 we received an e mail from our solicitor stating that blocks 1 to 5 (we are in block 2) had been built too high and the town hall had stopped the build untill the matter is resolved,On the 15 feb 2007 we received another e mail in which my solicitor has presented a document into the town hall in order to revise the situation, as the situation stands there is no work being done on this block and it may even have to come down, does anyone have any more information on this?as soon as i hear from my solicitor i will write in again hopefully with some good news

Update:
I have just received an email from my contact confirming I guess what we all ready know but I thought it worth just posting the basic details.
Work had halted on the main constructions but some internal works are still going ahead.
Aifos are currently in discusions with the authorities in Fuengirola and are expected to resolve the matter soon.
Completion is expected Autumn this year.
I must stress these are quotes from an email from my third party agent
I have been given a contact at Aifos, tried to ring without success I can post details if anyone is interested.
Kind regards
Andy

hi my father in law just been up to site. he lives out in spain and often pops up. he said theres half a dozen guys putting in windows on d block as thats almost complete now but said theres no work going on at all on blocks a b or c. they must be hoping to resolve something otherwise they wouldn't be wasting time and money finishing d block off. as for phoning aifos its pointless as you either can't get thru or they give you false information or information you can't believe. they have office in manchester also but again you can't believe what they tell you. the newspapers out in spain are full of stories on building companies who have been giving staff at the town hall cash backhanders for building liciences. aifos paid a woman in town hall 10000 euros and she got plastic surgery with it is one story in the press.

Just received an email from a sales consultant at the Aifos office in London and the completion date he has given me is February 2008. We are in D2 and when I looked in October last year I would have been amazed if the urbanization had been completed August of this year. February 2008 is an estimate so I will not be holding my breath! The agent that I dealt with in Spain has not been paid a penny by Aifos and so I'm not sure what part, if any, he will play when the place is nearing completion. It's just one more concern among many. As for selling the property that is a non-starter as I believe that the market in southern Spain is flat at the moment and it would probably be impossible to recoup even the original investment. Grin and bear it and see what happens seems the only option at the moment.

Hi
I am not sure how many of us look to this thread for information relating to our properties, I know I check at intervals in search of any news.
I, like others have agents and friends in the area to keep watch, however things seem quiet at present, which I guess is why I am posting this just to ask if anyone has heard anything further regarding the building infringement of blocks A,B,and C.The last I heard was Aifos would pay a fine

I would be grateful for any news regarding A B and C blocks - I am trying to get hold of my solicitor to see if she can find out anything. The last time I spoke to our agent i was informed that everything was going to be sorted and that possibly Aifos would have to pay a fine. she was going to keep me informed. We need to keep on top of this one

I have a very good lawyer - she is based in Fuengirola. I spoke to her at the weekend as I am very unhappy about the situation with regards Aifos and she is looking into the situation for me. If you want her number and address just let me know.

Re: SPANISH LAWYER
As requested please find below details of the lawyer we use in Spain:
Ms Rosa Corredas
Balmoral
Avda de los Boliches, 79-1 B
29640 Fuengirola
Malaga Spain
Rosa's office is based in the High Street Los Boliches
Tel: 0034952466140 Rosa - Spanish fluent in English
0034952581515 Sandra, Assistant - English fluent in Spanish
Fax: 0034952583530
The best time to call her is at 8.30 (British time) 9.30 (Spanish time) as she is a very busy lady. If you cannot get Rosa speak to Sandra - she is extremely helpful. Most of Rosa's client are British. If you are in Spain she does open her office at 5.00 (but you have to make an appointment). She is also there on a Saturday morning but again you have to make an appointment. Rosa or Sandra will give you all the information regarding the hours as they are changing all the time.
Rosa is on Easter break at the moment so will not be in the office until Monday.
Have a good Easter

Hi to those buying at Cortijo,
I am sure like me the rest of you that have invested good money into this project are more than feed up with the misleading and non existant information with regard to completion dates.
The excuse may be given that this is the "Spanish Way" things are done around here, that is not acceptable to me and I am sure the rest of you. We seem to be in a lack of information state at present with the c*** up of blocks A B C
I am purchasing my property for an investment and like you have made my Initial payments with no sign of any return. This is not an easy thing to bear especialy as over the last two years I have been given no less than ten different completion dates; this is outragious, somebody somewhere knows the truth and it certainly is not my agent.
My proposal is this, if I can gather as many interested parties as possible we can lobby the people who are not telling us the real story.
If any one has any interest in this approach just post a reply (it cost nothing).

Have just read your message and like you am thoroughly cheesed off with the way we are being treated over the Coritjo complex. We are getting mixed messages from agents, builders and lawyers and no one seems to be singing from the same hymn sheet. I have contacted all three parties at various times, but too no avail but an action group which you are proposing might give some weight to the problem, if the "RIGHT" persons or person can be contacted. I am an extremely interested party and would be more than glad to become part of your action group.
Any other potential purchesers within this complex should also sign up.
Good Luck
John

Count me in to your action group. While waiting for this property to be finished, we have found and bought an off-plan property in Croatia, which is now completed, furnished and being rented out.
If the Croatians can do it, why can't Aifos!

For what it's worth you can count me in Harry. What we need is a kick-arse lawyer who will take over and represent us en-masse. Mine is a very nice chap but completely ineffectual and if another existed who could make Aifos come clean I would change. I think there is a lawyer from La Linea who posts on here now and again and she is supposed to be good but I'm afraid that that is the extent of my knowledge of Spanish lawyers.
