The Comments |
Have just been reading in the British papers all about the problems with unauthorised building in the Alicante area, Cattral in particular, and about the villa that has just been demolished. Having paid our initial deposit we are now having nightmares in case the same thing applies to Las Kalendas. Can anyone who has already moved in offer any comments on this please?

Hi Herbie. it can be worrying buying a property abroad especially with the papers digging up storeys, it's true some people have been had over by dodgy builders agents & councils, but we must remember that hundreds of thousands have people have property in Spain that is all above board, if you have any worries about your property contact your solicitor for re-assurance, we are in the process of completing, and I don't suspect any legal issues, we have been advise from the builder that our villa is finished (ahead of time), and the builder has applied for the First Occupation License, now we have to waiting for the local council to draw up the deeds and grant the License, this can take some time because of the work load.
all the best.

Hi Herbie
We have lived on Las Kalendas for about 18 months now. Although we do not have the habitation licence in our hands yet our solicitor has confirmed that it has been issued and that it is being retained by the administrator as it is needed for mains electricity and water connection.
I'm sure that if there had been any problems then war would have been declaired against Procumasa who claim to be top line developers.

Hi paul
No not yet as we are still on unmetered water supply. My solicitor has confirmed that it has been issued though!
I see your villa is coming along well.

The last of our snags have been completed. Our perimeter wall has been painted and most of the cracks hidden by the new coat of paint! I think they did try to fill them but the filler was not allowed to dry before the paint was applied.
I did ask for Beatriz to come and look at it but i'll be even older and greyer before she arrives.
