Snags

we did our snags over a week, which was alot better cos you noticed more things as you went round

to be honest there were no mega problems - the worst things we had were a scratched sink and we had a socket that tripped the whole electrics - both of which needed replacing

if you have problems with your grouting, dripped paints, plaster everywhere - which we had and is quiet common - you are probably better off doing this yourself, and just leaving the stuff that you cannot do to the builders

for example we had some loose surrounds around our taps, scratched kitchen door handles, cracked tiles on balcony, split beading on wardrobe/room doors, rusty grills - our list was quiet long but they were quiet easy things to solve - we have only been back just over a week and the majority of them have been done already

just make sure you have silicon around your bath and shower tray as we did not, have this just tile grout, we just went to a ferenteria and got some and did it ourselves

Congratulations on your completion. Bet you can't wait to get out there again. Still waiting for a date for ours.

Thanks for the advice about snagging etc. When you say you did yours over a week, can I just ask if that was before you completed or after? I know you get the chance to do some snagging before completion but wasn't sure how long.

If you manage to get out there before completion visit the show house with your details and they should give you a key for your property.

This happened for us and we were able to notify the show house of some snags - some of which were remedied before completion.

This also gave us an opportunity to measure up and get a feel for the place etc.

Once you complete you only have a short space of time to notify any problems.

Luckily we didn't seem to have any major snags just a number of 'smaller' issues - as already stated by others, we did most of them ourselves but things like broken tiles etc were dealt with quite quickly.

you can arrange for furniture to be swapped before you go, but if you visit the place in Los Mostenious and speak to mercedes she is really helpful and speaks very good english, you can see the furniture from the pack and swap for other stuff and they give you the value of the furniture in the pack

The only big snag we have had is getting them to do the snags,  We have been in our house 10 months and after loads of visits to the show house and the builders we got the lounge and landing lights on we have been using lamps and torches on every visit.  Still have no rails in the wardrobes and the grills on the bedroom will not open all the other jobs we have done.  But the weather was very good, next door had men in doing the garden tiles we had to put up with there radio all day every day that was a pain.  Another thing that could become a problem is the walls between houses  it would be nice to be asked before anyone dos'e any work on them and changes them.  We have ended up with cement all over our tiles I hope they are more carefull when they come to paint.  It was very quite people wise last week a lot of places were shut and Some Place Else  made it clear they were shutting they shut around us at 10.00pm so we thought we had better move on to another bar.  We did have a good time and as I said the weather was great but I was glad to get home first time in ten years I have wanted to come home from Spain.  Neaver mind I will feel better when I see the next cheap flight
