My parents were down in March and things had also disappeared from our duplex - incuding a brand new hairdryer, curling tongs and a bottle of perfume.
The patio doorframe to the laundery room was bent during installation, causing the door to not close properly. These were listed on our snag list last June and KeyMare have refused to rectify the faults even though there is a large air gap when the door is closed. To add to the misery, our keyholder on her weekly inspection reported to Keymare in November that both glass panels in the door had been broken since my parents left there in October. My parents' follow-up visit last month resulted in Keymare saying that although their workmen had been in the duplex rectifying other faults they accepted no liability whatsoever since, as we have a keyholder, we cannot actually prove they caused the damage.
We are now left with two broken glass panels and an ill-fitting door - quotes to repair range from 300 euros (for glass) to 2800 euros to fix and re-install the door and frame properly. The contractor who provided the quotations confirmed that the standard of the original installation was dreadful.
For the record, we also have a terrace door that leaks when it rains hard (and it does), but KeyMare are not interested.
We are disgusted with the standard of workmanship accepted by KeyMare and really very, very disappointed with their AfterSales lack of support in putting right defects. They told us they had sacked the contractor and have no money for correcting building defects - how naive can they be!!
We advise anyone not to complete their purchase until ALL the important snags have been cleared.
I have also put this on Veranda's page as a warning to all those yet to complete.
