Estate Agency Fees

Hi,

Has anyone had additional air con units installed in their apartments? If so, can you please kindly let me know what companies you have used to install your units and what brand they have used, e.g. Fujitsu, Daitsu, Panasonic, etc.

Also, how much have they cost. I know both Polaris and Parador are charging approx 800Euros for each unit.

If anyone else is thinking of installing air con units from 21st May - 1st June then please let me know and maybe we can negotiate a better deal for both parties.

Hi AD, I had Polar Air install Daitsu invertor units in my house at Playa Golf. Their service was very good the guys turned up on the day/time they said and were finsished just after lunch. The units are quiet when runnung hot & cold and Polar Air will repair / service them if you need. Their costs were very competitive to the other quotes I received. Totally agree.   We used Gary at Polar Air - turned up on time, very tidy workers and cleaned up and took away what little mess there was.

We didn't want the outside units to blow along the length of the terrace and so they run the trunking round the wall so it blows away from where we invisage us sitting.   We also went for two units so, if one stops working temporarily,the other will still be in use.   Take a look at the photos I put on this site dated 16 March.

Am I right in thinking that the HR apartments have central heating (ie boiler with radiators)?  I am in the process of ordering my aircon units for the bedrooms and wondered if the hot+cold units are necessary or do I just need cold blowers?

I was thinking if the place has central heating I won't need hot+cold blowers, but I would appreciate other peoples' experiences before I make a firm decision.

Most of the a/c units today (other than the cheapy units) come with hot/cold as standard, or at least for very little extra. I think you will struggle to get ones without heat! To be honest never ever used the heating system or hot a/c in bedrooms...it never gets that cold. 

Don't you believe it.   I know the temps are really good at the moment and the air-con is very welcome, but we stayed on La Torre in January 07 when there was snow in Murcia, Granada etc and perpetual rain and we were so grateful to have heat from the air con to bump up the temperatures.   In answer to your question Kenny, yes there are radiators in the lounge, bedrooms and bathroom, but none in the hallway or in our kitchen.   While we were waiting for Polarair to install our duel air-con back in March we bought a cheap convector heater (just over 20 euros in Carrefour) and moved it between the hallway, kitchen and bedroom.   Now it is safely locked in our storage bed until the Winter.
