Hi all,

I know these points have been covered some time ago but I am visiting ur appt next week and I have a short time to buy some essentials , namely a television and patio furniture. Has anyone got any recent experience of these purchases please. Also what is the latest on the fiscal representation , there was mention of some good deals has anyone investigated further ?

Cheers Jay

Currently,  Carrefour have some excellent deals on patio furniture (68€ for a adjustable sun-lounger AND washable foam padded cover included in the price!) Whilst you are there, they have a wide range of television sets on offer as well as all the usual items you may have a need for..........everything under one roof.........saves time and money!

If you are wishing to shop "local", try the industrial estate at Antas which has a variety of shops, many selling patio furniture in all shapes, sizes and price ranges. Depau, at the Bouganvillias roundabout is recommended by "Noreen" (see previous threads), having personally not purchased from them, I can't recommend them although I do believe that they provide a "top-notch" service!

Happy Shopping!

Iron Art on the Antas Industrial estate have a great selection of patio furniture & they are extremely helpful.

We used Depau for our TV & DVD player. They have changed their name & I can't remember what it is now. They are situated just before the last roundabout on the way to Garrucha/Mojacar.

Hi Jay,

I fully support Noreen's recommendations, Iron Art is run by an ex Royal Naval couple and nothing seemed too much bother for them.  You can certainly buy cheaper plastic furniture elsewhere, but their sturdy Iron Furniture seemed competative.

The TV shop is on the  corner of the row of shops (coming from Thalassa) immediately before the Borganvillea roundabout.  You can turn down the left hand turn immediately before the roundabout, though legally I believe that you are supposed to go round the roundabout and then turn off to the shops once you have headed back towards Thalassa.  The shop then becomes about the last one on the right at the end of the parade.

Hi Jay

If you're flying into Murcia San Javier and have space on your plastic, I can highly recommend the THADER shopping centre close to Ikea just off the Calle de BonBon - Lorraine (Arranleesmith) told me about this and its fab.  We flew in a few weeks ago and drove back towards Murcia City on the A7/E15.  You'll see the exit for IKEA is posted on boards at the side of the motorway but I can't remember the number.

The shopping centre is just like a Florida Mall with loads of fantastic shops including (listen up girls) Zara, Oysho, lots of shoe shops and interior furnishing shops which the Spanish do so well.  There is a large Decathlon Sports and a huge electrical shop like Comet or Currys with loads of great deals.  The upper mall is full of restaurants and places to stop for eats/drinks.

Even if you drive up from Vera Playa it takes about an hour and a half and is a great day out so I guarantee you'll come back loaded with bags and goodies for your apartments.

See you in your (new ) shorts by the pool?
