In murcia at present and visited Corvera on Thursday. They advised that the cost for a round of golf would be 100 euros, with a 30% discount for home owners. That's not what we were told originally
! Also the golf course will not be playable until Jan 2010, until then they are to provide a shutle bus to roda for Corvera owners to use.

Hi,
When we originally bought I was informed that there would be a discount for owners. The actual cost was never discussed, but Euro 100 does seem a bit excessive. In fact, if memory serves me right, it is probably more than La Manga charges for a round on their well developed and mature golf course. Do you know if the PGA connection is still on for Corvera?

Hi AShish, l would say that the only way anybody has of finding out if the PGA are still intending to be involved with Calidona at Corvera is to contact them direct. Because if history has taught us one thing it's that neither Calidona, Corvera, MRI or their 'recommended' lawyers will impart the information!!!

Hi all,
www.scottishgolfview.com On Jan 22nd there is an article in that website telling about the link between the PGA and Calidona. If you cannot find the article just let me know and I will send you the page by e-mail.
With regard to the price for a round of golf €100 certainly seems a bit steep to me, I wonder if anything else is included for that price? Shuttle bus or a meal etc.

If you Google 'Corvera PGA' there are some Golfing sites that quote the PGA link more recently, including Club Murcia, but I suppose that's no guarantee that agreement between PGA and Calidona is signed and sealed!

Hi all,
sorry about the wild goose chase, I didn't realise how hard it was to find, I have that page bookmarked, so haven't gone through the searching. I also didn't notice that the date was for '07,I think that when I read it I was just so pleased to see something concrete that I didn't cop the date.

If Green fees are finally set at around 100 Euros then I wonder what the heck Membership fees are going to be for us who intend to eventually live on site?

Hi Steve
Perhaps if some of our Roda neighbours read this, they might advise on the costs there; presumably special rates for residents would be on a similar basis??

Hi all,
We have owned a ground floor apt on Roda since Dec '06 ( bought off plan june '04 ) the current price for green fees is 80 Euros , as owners we get 30 % off this, if you have guests renting you property they get a 20 % discount, if you have bought the 25 year golf rights you get a free hand trolley with that !!!!,otherwise its 5 euros for a hand trolley ,35 euros for a buggey ,25 euros for golf club hire.
We also get 10% discount from food & drink in the clubhouse
One good thing , there is usually an offer on for discount golf , at the moment its probably the best they have offered, after 4pm its 36 euros for a round of golf + a beer & tapas, which i beleive is very good value as the course is in fantastic condition.
We have noticed that the golf course is certainly alot busier than when we first completed & it is building a good reputation as being one of the superior courses in the region.
It doesn't suprise us that Corvera are quoting 100 euros per green fee, as by the time it is up & running Roda will probably be around the same price.
Hope this helps
Dave ( lyndas better half ) !!!

Hello all
New to site ,had a quick read of the last 5 or 6 posts and may be able to help a little with golf question regarding Roda
Current cost for public is 80 euro which in 2 years when Corvera is ready may be well over 100 euro.
Current cost in La Manga for the public is 198 euro and not a 100 euro ,check their web page.
Current cost at El Valle for the public seems to be 90 euro
At the moment owners get 30% discount
Golfrights holders get 40% with many other options available because they have them.
A lot can happen in 2 years therefore I would not panic just yet because in the begining it was also a bit vague in Roda until De Vere were on site and running the operation.
Hope this helps

Thanks Roda Golfer,
Thanks for your input and I agree totally with your sentiments regarding how early a stage we are at. I remember playing on La Manga and did not pay the rate you are quoting. I think the rate varies depending on time of year, day etc. For example, the following web page offers golf at La Manga for Euro 75.00:
http://www.bookyourgolf.net/Spain_Golf_Courses/La_Manga_Club_Golf_South_Course.htm
You must excuse some of us (including me) for splitting hairs. I'm not paranoid, Calidonia and the 'independent solicitors' are just out to get me! I have emailed some people about the Corvera and PGA connection - but still await a response. Let's see what happens.

Hi Dave & R.G. Forgive me for my ignorance as I've only ever golfed in the U.K. Are you saying that there are no such things as Club Memberships, only Golfing Rights. Whereas at my club in Wells I pay app.£600 a year and am able to play when I want without any extra Green Fees, am I only able to purchase rights to extra discounts in Spain or are there the equivalent membership schemes ?

Memberships in Uk for quality courses are rising sharply. Being a member at Buckinghamshire (ladies PGA HQ moving there), the annual subs exceeds 3500.00 GBP and I suspect that Corvera is going to be no different.
Exposure (such as PGA winter HQ) at Corvera will push up prices and that includes property prices as well (as soon as the word gets out).
Majority of golfers wish to play at quality courses and will pay the price.
My suggestion to owner golfers at Corvera is to purchase the best long term deal at the begining and you will reap the rewards later. Lets see what deals are on offer when every thing is up and running.
Rav.
