Hi
I had cancelled my contract last July 07 (deposit paid in May 06)after going to see my apartment in June07, which was in Phase 2 the place looked like a bomb site there was a school being built at the rear and an aparthotel across the road, and to top it off the size of the apartment did not match the spec and no-one working because of a dispute with the local council so I thought time to get out.
With that my apartment had surpose to be completed in July with contract signing, this was clearly not going to happen and under my contract I had three month grace to cancel.
I went ahead with this and then informed I could cancel as long as i did not contest the 10% compensation, I agreed to this and the refund had been arranged for Sept 07 then moved to November 07 and again to the end of Feb 2008 then again to March this is when I recieved my refund. You have to check if your contract has any clause in it then once started you have to keep going, once you have been told your refund has been approved and if your sol has P.O.A. you will have a form to sign accepting the amount and fax that back, then if you have a Spanish Bank Account your o.k,if not then you will have to have one arranged as for myself my refund covered the full deposit and because the euro against the pound I found myself slightly more than break even.
I have been incontact with others who have cancelled on this site some did not have to wait as long as myself it is just your luck and not giving in
hope this helps regards lawrence
