Have those that have completed all gone to Duquesa and forgotten about the rest of us? And those that haven't  have you given up and found more interesting things to do?
Either way it's all gone very quiet.

We're still watching and waiting.Haven't heard anything about the bl..... road lately.Assume that is still the hold-up but that it's still being worked on. How long can it take to lay one road?!? Has anyone heard or seen anything happening recently?Still looking forward to completing but feel a bit fed up with the lack of info from any official sources. Are really hoping we will be out there this summer; we hoped the same thing this time last year when bought our furniture which has  now been in store for over a year.Staying positive though with all the good reports coming from the folks already out there! Keep the news coming please.

Really not sure how many have completed because it was a ghost town.  I have found someone advertising their place for rent, though i'm not prepared to do that with ours until the utilities are connected.  There were too many problems such as the generator running out of fuel when we were out late last month.

We completed back in February but cannot move our furniture in until the extensive snagging list is completed.    Both the local snagging company we employed and our solicitor are having trouble getting any information from the after-sales office on site. This is worse than waiting for completion, as we are now paying a mortgage on an apartment that we cannot use.

Our Spanish lawyer has just called to say that we should complete tomorrow - HOORAY! We're in Block 7. Hopefully, if it happens, we will visit within the next couple of weeks to do the snagging and then furnish. Do I gather that the apartments are still on builder's water and electric supplies though?

ok ok....i've had holiday blues!! sorry.   Had to be dragged away yet again.

Not an awful lot to report but i'll share what i thought.  Had a lovely two weeks of sun every single day.  The weather really was fantastic.  I bumped into Pdrich (Paul and Bridget as i now know) a couple of times whilst they were out for a stroll. But i couln't find anymore of you lot and didn't want to go knocking on doors!       They probably thought we were a bit mental i think as my 13rd old daughter was swimming in the pool.  Yes, swimming in the pool!! it was ready after a couple of days of us getting there.  I even went in -- twice!.  Although the water was a bit cold but got used to it in five minutes. We spent a lot of afternoons by the pool, as did a couple of others around our pool area.

The pool next to ours around block 7 i think was complete when we left too (I'm block 11 by the way).   Pool area around block 1, 2  is being done now but the final one around your area Alan, block 18, isn't done yet. It only needs cleaning, filling and filtering though and we watched ours being done, all in about a week when we were there last month so don't worry about that. The pool around block 18 is just massive, deep too. I expect all you around that one to be skinny having to swim up and down that!.

The garden areas are coming on lovely.  Gardeners are there full time everyday (although sleeping on the wall for half an hour every couple of hours seems to be the norm) and the pathways, lawns and bedding areas are very neat and tidy. Sprinklers are working and lighting is on at night.  Some of the unreleased blocks are still in need of a bit of care but nothing major. They just look like other areas did a month ago.   Got some pictures for you of block 18 alan but camera still out there with my dad.  will post when he gets back.  I had four neighbours in my block whilst i was there and we all exchanged nods and smiles (very civilised) until i finally just came out with it and said 'are you anyone from  eye on spain?'. Paul (Pdrich)and trevor (Trebor) were the only two who didn't think i was mad when asking this question.  Think i better stop asking random people if i know them from the internet!!

One thing i will say is that we are very lucky to have shared information on this site all this time because there are people moving in who haven't had a clue what has been happening all this time and were surprised to hear all the things that have been happening over the past year.  They don't put things on for you either, you are just left stranded to work it out.  Like plugging the boiler in, turning the thermostat on your boilder up.  Also to turn on the water stop taps in the utility and bathrooms.  I thought the cooker needed the timer too Pdrich but it doesn't.  I've sussed mine out now and its fine.  Even roasted a chicked after smelling yours!!.

There are still a lot of things to do and maybe i have just been very lucky but i didn't have many problems.  The water went off once overnight and electric twice for 3 or 4 hrs in the afternoon but that was it in the whole fortnight.  It really didn'tcause me too much inconvenience but it wouldn't be good to happen too often.  I had a chat with an agent on site about the cost of utilities and he said we should make the most of not paying whilst things are still being done.  Reckoned it will be about 6 months until we are signed over to a private contract.  I didn't realise that we will be on water meters too (so we'll be the ones having a shower by the pool ).

Not read all the posts yet so Pdrich might have already told you that the new builders are back on site now and snagging in being done this week. Tv's are in cordoba and Juan went up there last wednesday to shout at them he said, as he is sick of everyone asking him about them.  They have said they will deliver them this week but don't hold your breath.

The underground parking was open for use and complete. Juan said it was ready to use now.  There weren't wires hanging out everywhere like there was in february and it seemed to be complete.  I used it and the gates work fine.  There was a problem with damp in the storage areas and some flooding in some parts of the car park that needed to be sorted.  I asked Juan and he said he would regularly check but that most of the leaks had been sorted and it needed to dry out properly.

The lifts aren't all working but they do work.  One of my neighbours is on the top floor and they came and builder came and put the lift into action for them.  It may be that they will do each one as people need them.  Don't ask me why they do crazy things like that as i haven't a clue but it seems that everything does actually work but they haven't done the details before people arrive.   For example, a few had to go out and buy heaters as the air con had no gas in them.   I had this problem in january and Juan got it gased for us, so i was amazed that he then doesn't make sure all completed ones are done so that they don't have to find him and him having to find a builder to do it.  There haven't been any works going on for four weeks due to the change over to Sacyr so nobody could come and do it for those out there, hence having to buy heaters.

The outside gates work but we got locked out lots because the lock is rusty and keys are very fiddly, so take your car park fob out at all times with you and open the car park gates with that should you get locked out.  Its not nice getting locked out at 1am and having to climb the gate.  I told Juan and he said he would oil the locks but who knows.  My video entry worked but you have to put a number after yours.  My door is 38ba so i have to press 3801 for the buzzer to ring in my apartment.

what else?... The road, well, it hasn't changed much i'm afraid since february but i was relieved to see workers back on it late last week, measuring and diggers running.   I asked about the road also and Juan said he was very frustrated because for him it is his highest priority so he can release all the remaining blocks.  He said it wasn't that far from being finished but couldn't give me a time.  He said maybe next month it will be finished.  The drains are all in and the manholes etc, but a good four or five feet depth of road needs laying.

The other phases have come on a lot since last month and because they don't have the problem of access with the road i don't think they will be long before completion.    Some of them were shells just a couple of months ago and now are almost done.

Anyway, i'm sorry i've gone on and on and on again, but this was the edited version too!!

me again..

I know some of you were worried about the satellite dish so i can't believe i forgot to tell you i got my sky dish on the roof.  So, panic over, its done now.  Had full sky package, it was great.  Coronation street before the bars.   I got permision from juan and he let engineer on the roof.   people can connect to one dish through the company i used and contribute to the cost.  However, the wiring was very long as access is only from one section on each block so depending on position the wires have to go through car park and everything.  I had to get extra wiring and it cost more than i thought but  At least i've got it started anyway, and the guy upstairs is joining onto it next week.  i did get lots of people out about that to make it was done properly and my picture was perfect the whole two weeks.

Good to have you back Suzanne and thanks for the detailed update. I am actually in block 16 but I think you have the right one because to my recollection there isn't a block 18 also our pool is extremely deep. When we were last there a year ago there was no fence around it and we made the comment that it would be very dangerous not to have some sort of protection for children. Hopefully they will or have already put something in place.

I really would like to complete but It will depend on the exchange rate as it is a matter of great concern at the moment. When we first entered into this it was something like 1.50 and now it is down to 1.25 at the moment. If they had finished when they should have there would not be a problem now.

I look forward to seeing the pictures when you've posted them.
Alan

oops yes sorry, i meant 16. i walked around it a couple of times for you and there is now indeed a fence around it.  its very impressive.  i know what you mean about the exchange rate but beware them laying the road very quickly in a couple of weeks and releasing the licences. Then you'd lose the option to cancel.   Hope you don't though. You'll love it and it would be a shame. We had to write off a few thousand in exchange rates too.

'Peps is back' I shouted to my wife as I logged in this evening. Thanks for the update. It was so quiet on EOS last week I thought my computer had broken (and the one at work too?) It sounds as though it is now looking good and helps expands Wardy's photo of Block 7 pool area to the whole phase. This photo also shows the fencing round the pool Alan. Good to hear ph4 is on the move. Still interested to know where the office is.

ha ha,glad i've not bored you all to death yet. I do go on but some of the little things are important too, like if you arrive and can't put your heating or water on in the night, these tips will help you.  I had a lady knocking on my door frequently for the first couple of days saying 'suzanne?, my water's not hot, my cooker won't work, how do you do this? will you phone Jaun? etc'.

Also, while i was waiting i was interested in even the tiniest detail. people could give me.

The office (i presume you mean the site managers office Juan Antonio) is now right opposite my door. He used to be in block 7.  I hope he's caved in and moved it just so he can save his legs coming to see me when i phone him?.  When i arrived he came out and shouted Hola Suzanne in his spanish accent which was quite funny. Anyway, i am in block 11 ground floor, he is in the block opposite ground floor on the left - A.  (i have lost my plan with the block numbers on sorry thats why i keep getting blocks mixed up).

Actually, i don't suppose anybody could scan theirs and e mail me a copy?

Don't bother with the sales office, they are no use to us now we have completed.  They'r only interested in selling now and won't deal with you.  Incidentally, they were showing a lot of people around whilst i was there so things are moving in their office too.  They've just been sat in the office for the past 6 months reading this probably.

Can i just say i am not a busy body at all, i do sound like one on here don't i.  I'm just excitable about all this and can't keep away.  My poor business is suffering terribly.  I've put it up for sale now.

Tracy?, i looked for you out there as i thought you might have been back out.  not sure if you may have arrived just before i came home as there were a few occupants in block 7.

Paul/Bridget - quite a few came just after you left.  about 4/5 in each block were there so wasn't so much of a ghost town.....well, maybe a bit of a ghost town but you know what i mean.  When you came through the pool area that day and i was reading on the grass i thought for one moment you were in my garden it was so quiet.  Almost forgot that it wasn't just my pool and that people were actually going to share it one day.  Was nice to meet you both.

ONE FINAL SUGGESTION - MAYBE WE COULD ALL WEAR BRIGHT YELLOW T-SHIRTS WITH EYE ON SPAIN PRINTED AND OUR NAMES ON THE BACK SO I DON'T HAVE TO KEEP APPROACHING PEOPLE LIKE SOME STALKER OFF THE INTERNET?

Suzanne, it was nice to meet you also.  I think you are right that any little bit of information can make the move in less stressful.

Juan is in block 12, by the way.  Are people not moving in because of the snagging?  We have been professionally snagged and have a list of 54 tings to be done, plus 6 or so we added when we had water and electricity. (Our snagger, Jane didn't).  Don't think it sounds like a disater because it isn't.  Its just that when I buy a new Bentley, I'm not keen on it having scratches on the inside and outside so I get them to fix it..

Go for it, it is definitely worth it.

Nice to have you back home again Suzanne, this place was lonely without you!  I was due out Monday just gone but had to postpone due to a family bereavement.  So I have now rescheduled for 21 April hopefully the TV's will be ready for collection by then...but I wont hold my breath.  Sounds like things have really moved since I was last there, really looking forward to going back especially now that people have started to move in and the place is becoming established.
Who eventually sorted the satellite dish etc out for you?  This is top of my agenda as I am taking my mum with me in June and there will be hell to play if she can't watch Coronation Street/Eastenders.
I am in block 6 any sign of movement there and is the pool filled? Have the developer/builder placed communal loungers around the pools?
I have contacted Juan several times and in Spanish but needless to say he does not return my emails…this may be due to workload or my Spanish! I was hoping to get the snagging works completed whilst I am there…but I can see that this may have to wait until my next visit.
Suzanne when is your next ETA, I am assuming that it will be the next school holidays?

Thanks to all for their updates and looking for ward to more photos being posted.

Suzanne - you say that the other phases have come on a lot - I'm in Phase 4 (as you may remember) opposite the school and wondered if you could elaborate. Are they all rendered now, have they started internal fit-outs etc.

I'm glad you're still posting your essays as they make good reading. I started a small file to keep all the useful information in but as you now have ...not an aweful lot to report....I've started a Suzanne only file. Thanks again for the updates as I'm not planning on getting out again until October.

Peps/Suzanne I posted a plan on 12/10/07 on photos, with an incorrect date of 1 Jan 2007, under Per. It is still there, the quality not as good as original though. Hope it helps.

Hello all, Just got back from China and wanted to check in. Peps - from my point of view, you musn't worry about being too detailed. I love your posts. They are really helpful, and it is the detail that matters when you're in our position. We haven't completed yet, only because we're still trying to get their blooming discount. We think it's worth holding out for a bit just because of the euro being so strong. Apparently, we don't actually HAVE to complete until absolutely everything is done so we'll hold out for a bit longer. We're booked on to a flight in August, and we've bought the furniture. Besides...we're excited really, and we want to get in! It's looking great, isn't it? Thanks for the photo's. Best, Margo

Great to have you back Suzanne! It's been so quiet without your posts! Your report on the road sounds a bit encouraging-we're hoping it won't be too much longer. It's so embarrassing when friends and family keep asking "Isn't the road finished yet?" and we keep replying "Almost!" No-one can believe that one road can take so long and you can tell by the looks that they think something dodgy is going on.We are staying optimistic though(with your help)
