Swimming Pool Maintenance

Due to lack of funds our community can not afford to maintain the communal pool.
Is it better to empty it, or leave the water in it to become stagnant and a breeding place for goodness knows what!!

Juandos, how many are on your community and how much is owed, do you not have a presidente or an addministrator who you can addess this with?

The owners are in dispute with the President and Administrator over failure to identify expenditures. I think they are using the pool problem as a lever to force the owners into line and pay their community fees.

Why don't the owners in residence just take on the maintenance of the pool - it's not rocket science!
I know many struggling communities due to developer not paying fees on unsold units (50+%) and difficult decisions have to be made.
Those in residence really need to pull together and fire the administrator if he is incapable of thinking outside the box and maintinaing the community in these difficult times.
Tough decisions need to be made!

I thought the people who maintain the pools have to be qualified in some way or other!

Hi juandos,
As has already been said it is a false economy to allow the pool water to fester or indeed to empty the pool. If emptied it will fill with rain water and debris and will then become an unholy mess.
It is very easy to maintain to an acceptable level at very small cost in time and money.
